South Coast Makers Market returns to Bournemouth this Saturday

AFTER FIVE months of retail lockdown, South Coast Makers Market is throwing open its doors this Saturday in Bournemouth town centre with a line-up of 45 local businesses. Visitors can expect a curated collection of high-quality stallholders showcasing talented South Coast creatives alongside a host of local food and drink including Bad Hand Coffee, The Way Outback and Chulli’s Woodfired Pizzas. Bournemouth’s Independent Makers Market is happening at The Loading Dock on Saturday May 1, located in the heart of Bournemouth behind The Avenue Shopping Centre. A spokesman from South Coast Makers Market said: “Supporting handmade makers and high street independents is at the heart of what we do, and we are delighted to be reopening with a standout line up of brilliant, innovative local businesses.

East Renfrewshire welcomes £1 3 million funding boost

Fairweather Park Newton Mearns EAST Renfrewshire town centres have received a £1.3 million boost to make a variety of improvements. Towns and villages across the local authority are just some of the projects being supported by the Scottish Government’s Town Centre Fund. The aim is to bring more diversity and variety to areas such as Newton Mearns, Eaglesham and Barrhead. East Renfrewshire Council bosses hope that the boost will help encourage residents to support local business as they recover from Covid-19. Some of the projects being supported by the fund include moves to improve access between the Avenue Shopping Centre and Fairweather Park in Newton Mearns. The carpark and entrance to the park have also been upgraded and outdoor gym equipment has been installed. The area is also set for street lighting upgrades as part of the fund.
