City council amended the Temporary COVID-19 Face Covering Bylaw to align it with when the province eventually repeals the requirement for mandatory masks in indoor public spaces during the May 3 regular meeting.
Masks are still mandatory throughout the province, and the City of Airdrie’s own bylaw is still in place. There is no confirmed timeline for when masks will no longer be mandatory, but with case records being broke across the province, it’s safe to say it won’t be soon.

4 dead, 2 injured in overnight car crashes in Arlington
At least one of the drivers is believed to have been impaired, police said.

Four people are confirmed dead and two injured in two overnight car crashes in Arlington, police said.
The second crash happened about 1:40 a.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of East Randol Mill Road, near AT&T Stadium. A car was speeding west when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car went over a curb and struck a tree, causing significant damage to the top and passenger side of the car, police said.

A Mansfield man has been arrested in connection with a December shooting in Arlington that left one man dead and another wounded.
Police announced the arrest of Raymond Alexander Echols, 28, on Thursday. Court records show that he was booked into the Tarrant County jail April 22 on charges of murder and aggravated assault and has since been released on $125,000 bond.
Officers were called the afternoon of Dec. 22 to the 1500 block of Summer Bay Circle, where witnesses reported hearing shots and seeing three men run away.
