Rice County Public Health Department Director Deb Purfeerst told KDHL AM Minnesota listeners today getting vaccinated is the way to get back to normal.
Purfeerst shared the Rice County vaccination numbers. 16+ one dose 61% vaccinated. 65+ is 95.7%. Ages 50 to 64 is 71.1%.
Purfeerst emphasized anyone can get vaccinated now with plenty of vaccine available.
She stated, The vaccines are effective at preventing COVID-19 diseas. In particular severe illness and death and they also reduce the risk of people spreading COVID-19. We continue to encourage people to get vaccinated or if they have just received their first dose of Moderna or Pfizer and haven t received the second dose yet now is the time to get the second vaccine. So they are fully vaccinated and protected.
