A general view of Granville Road, Blackburn A POLICE officer looking for a car which had flagged up as uninsured came head to head with the vehicle.
Blackburn magistrates heard Ayaz Mohammed, who was behind the wheel of the VW Golf, reversed slightly and then mounted the pavement, ignoring requests from the officer to stop. Mohammed, 35, of Azalea Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to drug driving, failing to stop for a police officer and driving other than in accordance with a licence. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with 15 days rehabilitation activity requirement and 160 hours unpaid work. He was banned from driving for 36 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £95 victim surcharge.
