STANDISH – Kyle Michael Kipikas, 35, of Sebago, passed away Monday May 24, 2021 from a tragic motorcycle accident. He was born June 8, 1985 at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital the son of Michael and Kelly (Kimball) Kipikas.
Kyle was a participant of The Gifted and Talented Program throughout Sebago Elementary School and Lake Region Middle School. He graduated with honors from Cheverus High School in 2003. At Cheverus High School he excelled in many of their sports programs including baseball (pitcher), golf (All Conference Award Winner), and basketball. In 2007 he earned a B.S. degree in Biology from Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y.

Iona College graduates heard inspiring speeches from an alumnus who started a nationwide trend.
Patrick Quinn was the co-founder of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and also a graduate of Iona.
A compilation of Quinn’s messages used as he campaigned to raise funds for Lou Gehrig’s Disease were played for the graduating students and those in attendance.
“I want you to know that you can be great no matter what life throws your way,” Quinn said.
Professor George Bournoutian
The Society for Armenian Studies sponsored a special event in honor of Professor George Bournoutian, a prominent scholar of Armenian Studies, on May 14. Prof. Bournoutian was recognized by the SAS for his outstanding service and contribution to the field of Armenian Studies during his more than forty-year career in the field. Born and raised in Isfahan, Iran, Bournoutian is the author of over thirty books, particularly focusing on Armenian, Iranian, and Caucasian history. His books have been translated into Armenian, Farsi, Turkish, Polish, Japanese, Spanish, and Arabic.
