The Minister of National Defence, General Nicolae Ciuca, and the Joint Chief of Staff s head, lieutenant-general Daniel Petrescu, met on Thursday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence (MApN), with the head of the Italian Republic Chief of Defence Staff, General Enzo Vecciarelli, the three addressing the current security topics from the agenda of the North-Atlantic Alliance, military cooperation and amplifying opportunities for collaboration relations. The cooperation between the two armies enrolls in an upward trend, both in bilateral format, through participation in joint training activities, as well as an ally, through its affiliation of an Italian unit at the South-Eastern Multinational Brigade, participating in enhanced air police and NATO operations, Romania and Italy having relevant contributions in the framework of assumed commitments, reads a press release sent by MApN to AGERPRES.

Romania has sent medical equipment to India, given the country s surge in the number of cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in serious condition, informs the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
According to the cited source, a C-130 Hercules aircraft of the Romanian Air Force left for the Republic of India on Wednesday, in a humanitarian assistance mission for the emergency transport of medical equipment for this country, severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The emergency aid offered by Romania consists in the free transfer of medical equipment consisting of: 80 concentrators, 75 oxygen cylinders and 20 high-flow oxygen therapy devices, the release specifies.

President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Florin Citu and Defence Minister Nicolae Ciuca have packed Easter gifts for veterans of the Second World War on Tuesday, report agerpres.
The three officials participated in the Alongside Veterans campaign, organized by the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) in partnership with the Alongside Heroes association, on the occasion of the National Day of War Veterans.

President Klaus Iohannis and Prime Minister Florin Citu on Tuesday will join, at 1.30 p.m., the Together with Veterans campaign organised by the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) on the occasion of the National Day of War Veterans, reports agerpres.
The event takes place at the National Military Centre. Also, Custodian of the Crown Margaret and Prince Radu will be at this event and will symbolically wrap gifts for World War II veterans.
The Together with Veterans campaign started on April 23 being organised by the Ministry of National Defence in partnership with the Together with Heroes Association. It will take place over several days and will include an action to distribute gift baskets on the occasion of the Easter Holidays for all the 2,610 war veterans in Romania, as well as for the eight in the Republic of Moldova. The distribution of the baskets to the war veterans will take place between April 28-30.
