More than 100 public health infringement notices (PHINs) were issued by the Fiji Police Force over the last two days.
According to Police, of the 102 notices issued, 71 people were booked for failing to wear a mask.
Police say 58 cases were recorded during the first 24-hour period from Tuesday morning until yesterday morning.
“Failure to wear a face covering (mask) recorded 51 cases. The Western Division recorded 22 cases, Central – 19, Southern and East – five cases each,” Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said.
“Four PHINs were issued for breach of curfew while three PSV drivers were issued for breaching the 50 per cent Ministry of Health Guidelines.

Four PHINs were issued for breach of curfew while three PSV drivers were issued for breaching the 50% Ministry of Health Guidelines. He said forty-four PHINs were issued in the last 24-hour period and failure to wear face covering (mask) recorded 20 cases. Five reports in the Southern Division, four PHINs were issued by PSRU, Central and Western Division while the Eastern Division recorded 3 cases.

The Southern Division recorded the highest number of infringement notices in the last 24 hours.
This after 20 Public Health Infringement Notices (PHINs) were issued overnight with the Southern Division recording 16 notices and all were for failing to wear a mask in a public place.
According to Police the other four PHINs were issued in the Western Division.
Police say three were issued for social gathering and one to a public service vehicle driver for breaching the 50 per cent Ministry of Health Guidelines.
Fijians are urged to report any breach of restrictions by calling 917 or the following Divisional Command Centers;
