Zimbabwe provides US $26,344 for construction of classrooms in Kavalamanja, Zambia

The government of Zambia has provided US $26,344 for the construction of two classroom blocks at Kavalamanja memorial primary school in Zambia. Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Zambia Charity Charamba confirmed the development. The cash was handed over to Zambia’s Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary Fredrick Phiri.
Zambia and Zimbabwe relations
Early last year, the Zambia Army took over the running of Kavalamanja Primary School and renamed it Kavalamanja Memorial School. Kavalamanja area is widely known due to the events that took place back in 1978 when the former Prime Minister of Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, Ian Smith, bombed the area killing several people that included civilians and soldiers.
