In a tweet last night the president said very sad that the fbi missed all of the many signals sent out by Florida School shooter. This is not acceptable. Meteorologist chris sowers is back with the look at accu weather forecast. Snow is in and out this month has been so funny, i was putting numbers together. We had more days in the 60s then inches of snow in philadelphia. Yes. It has been a bummer trend continues. Yes, receipts get over to the weather center, and show you what is going on here. There is the storm that pulled through. It was just sipping along, racing off to thee at 40 to 50 e answerly that was saving grace because we had no blocking area of High Pressure to the north. Had we had a high up there, what you would normally see this time of the year to slow that storm down some areas quite honestly could have had a foot and a half of snow with this. With that said we had several location that is picked up seven and 8 inches of snow. Well, north and west of philadelphia it shows thaw how both event that little storm was even though it was racing along. Here are your headlines this morning. Sunshine returns today. It will be a gorgeous afternoon. Warm front arrives tomorrow, it arrives with more cloud and rain but once the front pushes through then it will open up the door, opens the door to springlike temperatures again sixtys and zero sevens and one day where high is like 75 degrees in the seven day forecast but along with that comes chance for springlike rain showers as well. Let me run that down in a moment. 35 degrees in philadelphia, dew point of 30. Winds out of the west northwest at 8 miles an hour, little chilly, wind chill of 29 but heres good news almost every location at this point now has jumped above freezing, so whatever ice, frozen slush you are seeing out there in the Lehigh Valley, western counties Lancaster Berks county this will start melting soon. Thirtyfive in philadelphia, dover, millville 34. Cape may and Atlantic City 35. There she goes. That storm that brought the snow, yesterday evening, there was big fat wet flakes, Silver Dollar snow flakes falling at very wrapped pace, accredits delaware and Lehigh Valleys. Heaviest snow fell just like this across southern new england and down into our far western counties. Now again things are clearing out now, we have clear skies all the way across ohio, tennessee valleys and a nice westerly breeze which will get temperature up to 48 today. Call from accu weather mostly sunny, mild, 48 is the forecast ted high and a few left over cloud this morning but wall to wall blue skies later this afternoon by lunchtime 44. By 2 00 he clock 47 and by 4 00 he clock 48 degrees. Overnight tonight several far western suburbs will drop below freezing again so watch for refreeze. Otherwise 34 above freeze ago cross i95 corridor underneath partly cloudy skies, winds light out of the south at three to 6 miles an hour. Running numbers down in the mid to upper 40s lots of sunshine. Overnight tonight partly cloudy, mainly clear give or take. Tomorrow morning we will see clouds increase from the southwest, this is with the warm front springlike warm front. Could be a couple showers by late morning and period of rain during the afternoon but look at the numbers. There is no snow, mixed precipitation we are close to 50 in philadelphia, dover 52. Millville, wildwood, Atlantic City in the 50s and north and west in the mid up toker 40s. Once this front crosses the region then it will feel probably like april or may out there with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. For next 48 hours here watch out for icy patches once again tomorrow morning, so for this morning and tomorrow morning then warm front comes in here with that light rain, shower activity during afternoon on monday, and then monday night, the big concern would be for areas of fog, in the exclusive accu weather seven day forecast once fog dissipates tuesday here we go we are in to it. 70 degrees. Partly cloud which a shower. Seventythree. Thursday cooler. We are still forecasting a high of 58. Like his first of many joel embiid made his nba allstar saturday night debut last night. Joel embiid. The process has a skills challenge or dont, embiid had trouble in his passing, and, you see it seems like it would be difficult, owe did make a triple to be, beating in the advancement in the second round and quite a bit of cheating where he is, still fell, the rookie, but it is the future. Just listen to what perennial allstar kevin due rant said about embiid. He is skilled for his size. He can shoot the three. He can dribble. He will develop his skills overtime, if he wants to. He is a great player. He definitely is a guy that you have to respect. And just take over this league here, once im done. Wow. So close, at last night utah jazz Donovan Mitchell was winner and he brought out kevin hart and his son to dunk over them. That earned, all perfect 10s from the judges and kevin h artist really small but still impressive. Reporter santana is catching the attention of the young teammates a much needed veteran presence and his approach at the plate solidifies the middle of the phillies line up. How dangerous do you think this line up can be in philadelphia. A lot, lot. Especially, yes. Reporter phillies fans love to hear that. Now back to the breaking news coming in from olde city a fire races through at least four alarms triggering evacuations. Action news has been on top of this story since the calls went out. Action News Reporter bob brooks has been live at the fire scene all morning long on the 200 block of Chestnut Street and bob, what is the very latest. Reporter well, nydia and gray there is no reports of any injuries not to any of the Fire Fighters that came out here to put this fire out, and then also not to any of the residents. I can say there is a lot of damage, unfortunately a lot of people who likely lost everything inside of their homes. Behind me here you can see a very active situation here on third and chestnut. The fire, im told by the commissioner, it is under control but that doesnt necessarily mean it is out but it is considered under control at this point. You can see right up above there in the top two floors, top three floors you still have smoke, pretty significant smoke still coming out but for the most part im told that the fire is under control at this point. I want to bring up video when this first started at 3 30 this morning, when we first got here, gray, nydia the fire was a mess. I mean the flames were shooting, clearly up through building out of the roof, the inside of that pretty much has to be a shell at this point. Im told by commissioner there is 160 evacuees from this block at third and chestnut in the area. That is a lot of people. They are working with the red cross, red paws is out here. There is a rot of displaced pets. Just a very serious situation here. We have sound with the fire commissioner and neighbors when they all first started, lets take a listen. Resource that is we could be devoting to the fire fight. Life safety is always first thing for us. When you hear the fire alarm get out, dont take your stuff we are trying to evacuate these buildings. It is serious. We evacuate a building without good reason. Smell smoke, and smoke in our unit, and then i looked down through window and could see smoke billowing out from the ground floor restaurant next door from frustrates. So, of course, evacuated immediately. Reporter another live look out here fire commissioner says it might be under control , it is still not out. I have to be honest all those sound by the we are playing i just saw some more orange flames so clearly not out. They have a lot more work to do. Investigation beginning to try to figure out what caused this but a very popular spot right here in the heart of the olde city, third and chestnut a very bad fire but good news is it is a lot of damage but no report of any injuries. Reporting live from olde city, bob brooks, channel six action news, back to you guys. Very much an active scene, bob, thanks for the update. We want to turn to our other big store own this sunday morning and that is our weekend snow. Many people are having to shovel this morning, several places in our area got half a foot of more. This is new video from moorestown, new jersey and it is considerably less than that lets get your snow totals and accu weather preview for is what on tap today from meteorologist chris sowers and how much snow depends on where you live, chris. That is right further north and west you are, more snow you picked up. But im getting feedback on social media folks telling me they enjoyed this snowstorm because it is only sticking around a day or so and then it will melt. Temperatures will climb all the way up into the 60s and 70s, again, so we have got warmer weather on the way. Satellite six with action radar, one of the things were in the seeing a lot of times big snowstorms we will get a huge arctic high on the back side and it keeps snow on the ground for a while. Were in the seeing that this time around. As a matter of fact there is no arctic high to the north, thinks all mild pacific air, race nothing on the back side of the departing storm right there because of that temperatures are easily climbing up in the upper 40s today, close to 50 tomorrow and then ill show you near a second how warm we get next week. Big concern will be this over next few hours from this line north and west we are still seeing numbers below freezing mark of 32. As a result there is a lot of black ice, frozen slush, just icy patches. So it is slowing down on the side road this morning and were still pretty close to the freezing mark south ande as well but we are above 32. Thirtyseven in fortecoup, and cinnaminson, vineland and hammington and tuckahoe checking in at 35. We have a sneaky little storm on the back side of the warm up. Thursday 61. Friday 60. Yesterday, still fairly mild with a high of 42. Then comes this snow, you can see some of the numbers here, bridgeton 2 inches. Huffs church 7. 4. Allentown 8. 3. Nice and mild before the storm we will get a sneaky little storm. Watch what happens as storm departs 50 degrees for monday. Seventy for tuesday. Seventythree as we head into wednesday. All right, chris, thanks very much for the update. Time right now to turn to the action news trouble shooters and familys quest to move their mother to their final resting place in philadelphias wissonoming section. She spent every day loving and helping people and she was greatly missed. Reporter irma allen passed away two years ago her death was difficult enough to cope with but made all of the more painful for her daughter, Brenda Perkins when she and her siblings could not honor her mothers wishes to be laid to rest with their father. It was really devastating. We had a lot of friends and family help us get through this and it wasnt easy. Reporter irma and William Allen paid in full for double crypt at rivers edge Memorial Center. William allen was buried there american 10 years ago but his wife irma still isnt with him to this day they have in the return any of our communications or phone calls. Reporter irma allen had to be temporarily buried at this cemetery after river edge claimed it didnt receive the familys messages. It is just too much. Just too much. Too much for everybody. It is hard on the heart. Reporter after irma allen had been temporarily buried the owner of the River Edge Memorial Center sent condolences and heartfelt apologies explaining the phone must not be working properly. Would i offer to the family that we will be glad to take their mother and place her with their father in the abby that they own. I would also offer to do that at no charge to them. But after a week of negotiating irma allen still had not been transferred to her final resting place. It is hard. It was utterly horrible. Reporter Allen Children then sued rivers edge Memorial Center for cost of the temporary burial and an additional 5,000 for pain and suffering. In the end they won a judgment for the burial cost but months later, no check, and no closure. Im willing to do whatever we can do to make the allen family comfortable and happy, after the tragic experience that they had with rivers edge. Reporter anthony pal manya is owner of the rivers edge memorial certainty. Why are you pushing the issue. Reporter im doing it for them because they said they tried to contact you and get this matter resolve. Fake news.
