The north philadelphia native was convicted of gun and drug charges in 2008. Judge brinkley seen in an interview revoked the rappers probation. Advocates outside the criminal Justice Center are calling out the judicial system that they say failed him and continue to fail others. 61,000 men and women incarcerated for technical violations not crimes but technical parole or probation violations. I definitely dont think his sen spence is fair sentence is fair. He made a mistake but he doesnt deserve that amount of time. Nobody goes to state prison for technical violations. Its one thing in youre own probation and you go out and rob somebody, shoot somebody, rape somebody but the idea of taxpayers spending 42,000 to jail a man who should be doing Community Services to enlighten the youth. I feel as though because of who he is and the status that he got they were trying to make an example out of him. A couple months maybe but two to four years. When its people out here doing worse than that and getting less sentencessism tonights rally still going strong here in center city. Police started following the suspect car along maryland avenue at 10 oclock this morning. The suspects crashed into another vehicle hit a telephone pole then hit several parked cars. The driver ran off but was caught a short time later. The passenger managed to escape. There were no serious injuries. Police still havent said why they were pursuing the car in the first place. A Fatal Shooting outside a Philadelphia Club over the weekend has prompted demands that the place be shut down. And this was not the first first time violence was linked to the a lounge. This weekend marked the third murder here since january 2015 along with other incidents of violence. Theyre grieving over the most recent homicide here over the weekend. 37yearold pablo rivera was shot and killed outside the after hours club early sunday morning. He was a good person. I just want everybody to know that. He was a loving person and didnt deserve this to happen. Reporter a 24yearold innocent bystander was also wounded. A Club Security guard shot the suspect in the leg and he was immediately apprehended by police. The murder was the third outside the club since january 2015. When 34yearold Alejandro Rojas garcia was shot and killed. Were tired of having people join us as a family of murder victims. Reporter now these families and other Community Activists are calling on city leaders to shut down the a lounge for good. Dont come here. You know, thats the boycott this place. We need to boycott this place. Thats going to send a message were not going to stand for this kind of violence. Whenever theyre opened were going to be in front of this door letting people know youre getting ready to die in this place. Thank you sarah. A federal jury in new jersey says it is deadlocked on all 12 counts in senator Bob Menendezs corruption case. The judge sent the jury home to clear their heads and told them to return tomorrow morning. The trial is now in its 11th week. Last week a dismissed juror predicted there would be a hung jury. Prosecutors accused menendez of accepting gifts from a florida ophthalmologist in exchange for political favors over seven years.
