Worcester restaurants went courting on Valentine's Day, looking for love from diners amid pandemic
WORCESTER — The poet Dylan Thomas wrote about "love's first fever."
But, how about love's first prime New York steak with Lyonnaise fingerling potatoes, butter poached lobster tail, grilled asparagus and hollandaise sauce?
The entree was a Valentine's Day special at The Boynton Restaurant & Spirits, 117 Highland St., on Sunday.
The special was a creation of head chef Caleb Bogren, who noted as the first diners were set to arrive on Sunday that Valentine's Day would be a "a bunch of tables for two."
In normal times, Valentine's "is a very busy time for the restaurant industry. In football terms, we call Valentine’s Day the AFC championship (with Mother’s Day being the Super Bowl)," said Steve Clark, director of government affairs for the Massachusetts Restaurant Association.
