Hello! My name is Serena, and I recently started as an editor here at The Chronicle. Soleil is on vacation, so I’m taking over for the next couple of weeks.
I moved here during the pandemic, and I can’t lie: I miss my old home, New York. It’s not that I’m not happy to be in San Francisco. I am! But moving to a new city during the pandemic has meant that everything that was familiar to me is unavailable, and not having my go-to spots has taken an emotional toll. When I don’t have the willpower to even choose a takeout spot, let alone cook, I must bet on something that might not satisfy.
