MILLIS — Fundraising and pandemics aren't exactly two things that make for a natural  partnership, meaning many local organizations have had to find novel ways to bring people together virtually in support of their missions.
The Friends of the Millis Public Library have taken this charge quite literally with an upcoming fundraiser they call "A Novel Occasion."
The group, led by President Sandra Scott, is bringing together 10 well-known authors — some of whose names have been bandied about on New York Times bestsellers lists — for a live virtual meetup to talk about their latest works and the writing process next  Saturday, May 1, from 12-2:30 p.m.
