The town is exploring a replacement for the tanker truck, sparking a disagreement with the village liaison

WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville town council is in the market for an attorney to work on its Fire Protection Contract with the Village of Wellsville.
The town approved a motion to hire outside counsel at its July meeting. The contract has been a point of contention for several years as the three entities — the village, town and the fire department — have struggled to finalize an arrangement satisfactory to all.
The issue emerged once again at the town council meeting following a discussion about the purchase of a new tanker. Village board member Mike Roeske, attending the meeting as the village’s liaison to the town, took issue with the town making plans for the tanker.
