A Wellington City Councillor is putting forward a proposal to remove a $76 million “loan” put aside for Wellington Airport’s seawalls.
In the council’s Long Term Plan Committee meeting agenda, $76m had been set aside in the 2027 to 2030 budget.
On Wednesday evening, councillor Tamatha Paul said she and some of her colleagues had doubts that the money was exclusively for the seawalls. That was why, at the committee meeting on Thursday, Paul would be calling for an amendment on the airport seawalls budget.
