The following is an excerpt from the Wellesley Police log. All persons are presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
On Jan. 4 at 1 p.m., Officer Pino spoke with a woman about a possible attempted breaking and entering overnight. She said that at 2:30 a.m. her dog began barking which was unusual. She noticed some footprints in the snow around her house. Officer Pino checked her residence and did not notice any signs of attempted forced entry
On Jan 4 at 4:51 p.m., Officer Harris spoke with a man regarding identity theft. The man said he had been the victim of a fraudulent unemployment claim a few months prior and had reported the issue to the Office of Unemployment. On Jan. 3 he received a “Go Bank” debit card along with paperwork with his name on it in the mail. He stated he had not opened a new account. Officer Pino advised him to notify his own bank and monitor his credit for any suspicious fraudulent activity.
