The mta released photos of a small plane that crashed yesterday. The pilot died in an accident. Saturday, a Small Plane Crash in west calwell, new jersey, also killed its pilot. Reporter it was just before 8 00 sunday morning when the small single engine plane crashed onto the Long Island Railroad tracks in long island and burst into flames. We were driving to church this morning and saw smoke and realized something was wrong because we never see that color smoke. Reporter the passenger identified as 55yearold Paul Giordano, of mount vernon, had fullen out of the craft and amazingly surprised. Workers just a few miles away rushed to help. He was banged up and was still speaking. Reporter the beach craft 57 just missed hitting oyster bay road where authorities believe the pilot may have been trying to land shortly after taking off from west hampton beach. His plane had left Suffolk County in route to marstown, and reported to local farmingdale airport explaining difficulties maintaining altitude. That came in a short time before the accident. Reporter witnesses say they knew the plane was in trouble. People came from nearby in their cars trying to help. The plane was on fire at the time. One of them grabbed the small fire extinguisher which didnt really do anything to stop the flames. We didnt see anybody in the flames, so we kind of just stepped back and soon after that is when the police and fire truck started to show up and kind of got everybody back and out of the way. Investigators with the ntsb are still trying to determine what caused a deadly plane crash in new jersey. The 50yearold pilot died when the singleengine cess nacrashed saturday in west calwell after taking off from the essex county airport. The pilot radio controlled the airport saying he couldnt maintain power. The pilot has been identified and no one else was on board. A sixhour stand off in new jersey. The double murdersuicide shut down the neighborhood for most of yesterday. Road blocks were set up to keep resident ares out. One man posted these pictures to instagram of heavily armed officers in swat gear near the home. An arm oured vehicle was also brought in. Its been 24 hours since he pushed an officer and took off from a station house. The escape is very similar to another incident in harlem in june where Surveillance Video caught a suspect running from detectives while handcuffed. A third man escaped Police Custody last month in another harlem precinct and was officially caught. Police found edena hines with several stab wounds on a sidewalk. Reporter chris and mary, the details of this case are extremely disturbing. Police say edena hines was stabbed more than a dozen times by her livein report who is at the psyche ward at columbian Presbyterian Center undergoing investigation, this morning charged with seconddegree murder. Rocked by the murder of 33year old edena hines. Her own neighbors witnessing her killing. Unable to shake the violent and disturbing image from their minds. He was landod lake shore drive and was rushed to the hospital. The man was going really low and appeared to be motionless or lifeless. He was a member of the armys Golden Knights parachute team. Reporter it was just before 8 00 sunday morning when the small single engine plane crashed on the Railroad Tracks in bethpage, long island, and burst into flames. We were driving church and saw smoke and realized something was wrong, because we never see that color smoke. Reporter the pilot was killed in the blaze and a passenger identified as 55year old Paul Giordano of mount vernon had fallen out of the crash and amazingly surprised. Workers just a few yards away rushed to the mans side. He was conscious, banged up but was still speaking. Reporter the Hawker Beechcraft 57 just missed hitting South Oyster Bay road where authorities believe the pilot may have been trying to land shortly after taking off from west hampton beach. This plane had left the airport in Suffolk County in route to mars town, and reported to local farmingdale airport and expressed difficulties in maintaining altitude. That information came in a short time before this accident. Witnesses say they knew the plane was in trouble. People driving nearby rushed from their cars trying to help. It was flying too low. It was like upside down. The plane was on fire at the time. One of them grabbed the small fire extinguisher, which didnt really do anything to stop the flames. We didnt see anybody in the plane so we kind of just stepped back. Soon after that is when the police and firefighter showed up and started getting everybody kind of back and out of the way. Investigators for the ntsb are still trying to determine what caused a deadly plane crash in new jersey. The 50yearold pilot died when a single engine cesna crashed saturday. He had radioed the airport saying he couldnt maintain power. The pilot has not been identified. No one else was on board. The Army Parachutist injured over the weekend has died. He was critically injured saturday when he struck an Apartment Building and fell to the ground. It happened after he hit another parachutist in midair. The man was coming in really low and appeared to be almost motionless or lifeless. He hit the building right there, like at his cast, and he flipped over and he fell in between and hit that wall and then he fell. Hood fought tours of duty in iraq and afghanistan. Civil rights activist and politician julian bond has died. Bond was born the grandson of a slave. While in college, he started a protest group and went on to march alongside Martin Luther king, jr. Reporter neighbors say it appears as though Lamar Davenport was trying to perform an exorcism as he repeatedly stabbed her on the sidewalk. This morning hes being held at columbian presbyterian where he is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. All of this happening about 3 00 sunday morning just a few blocks from the hospital here on west 167th street. Neighbors say they saw 30year old davenport stabbing 33year old edena hines multiple times, more than a dozen times according to police. Neighbors say the stabbing happened just a few hundred feet from the apartment that the couple shared. Many of those neighbors watching helplessly as davenport allegedly ranted as he stabbed her. I heard the guy Say Something about devil be gone or jesus and gone, and it was like uhoh. He was like kneeling over her scream being god has arisen. I mean, he was totally off the ranch. Juan montoya has test driven vehicles with builtin headup displays and things that makes driving safer. The technology does not end with speed gauges and navigation. Some companies are developing displays for any vehicle that would allow drivers to receive and respond to Text Messages or post to social media, all while keeping their eyes on the road. The technology seems promising and seems to sort of integrate a couple of smart phone features which were not getting from the factory systems.
