If that seems familiar, hearing the words sunday soaker, this is our fifth weekend in a row weve mad some storm bringing rain or snow. Rain on the way for sunday morning. Its in the washington, d. C. Area and it continues to spread towards the north and east. Well look for this rain to fill in overnight. So while not all of us are wet right now, by midnight that rain batch is just to our south and west. You can see what happens to about 3 00 a. M. , rain in the yellows and oranges through philadelphia, the northern and western suburbs. Crystal tomorrow at 5 30 will be showing those heavy downpours in our northern and wear suburbs. Rain will continue for morning hours, through midday, and well start to see that rain taper down in intensity during the afternoon hours. Many know how animals can change lives. At the pegasus riding academy, horses are the key to therapy. Tonight, more than 100 people gathered to honor two participants who are overcoming challenges. Nbc 10s andrea kline thomas introduces us to charlotte and arshim. Reporter theres just something about the horses at the Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy that has students like charlotte fieldcamp beating the odds. When i ride my horse, i just feel free to be myself. Which is not true necessarily in other environments. Reporter charlotte has Cerebral Palsy and has been riding for more than two decades. Her achievements include graduating from college with honors. Pegasus is a program for children and adults with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. Physically the horses help improve the riders strength. If you have an intellectual disability, its teaching them how to focus, how to plan, how to speak. Reporter rashim davis also has Cerebral Palsy and used a walker when he first arrived at pegasus. 25 years later, hes earning medals in riding competitions. He says riding has helped keep him balanced and focused. I have enjoyed my time riding with other people. Reporter thats why charlotte and rashim, ra as many call him, are being honored at the academys annual gala, a fundraiser to help continue providing the same results to more client. You dont age out like other activities. You could be in your 60s, 70s, 80s and still participate in our program. Reporter for rashim, charlotte, and many others, riding is a lifelong passion. It was neighbors who stopped a man after watching him smash his car into parked cars in south philadelphia. Just take a look at the damage left behind. Smashed bumpers, shattered tail lights, dangling mirrors. Last night around 10 30, neighbors saw a driver erratically hit cars near 24th and south third streets. Those neighbors and an offduty Sheriffs Officer were able to stop the driver until police arrived. The driver was arrested for dui and taken to the hospital. A couple is behind bars tonight accused in the death of a 15monthold. Wilmington Police Arrested lavar harris and tamecka wright. The medical Examiners Office ruled the childs death last week was from bluntforce trauma. New details are emerging about several deputies standing outside the school and not going in to help during the florida massacre. Today nbc news has learned three deputies did not enter the school, but its not clear why. The Sheriffs Office did not respond to nbcs request for comment. This comes after an Armed School Resource officer waited outside for four minutes during the shooting. He has since quit the department after the department launched an investigation. 17 people were killed in the massacre. The body of famed pastor billy graham is heading to his hometown of charlotte, north carolina. The procession began this morning at a packed Mountain Chapel in asheville.
