Weve gotten rid of some of the racism that has been in the past production. And it feels fresh and new. Its set in a campground. The girls in the play have as much fun and as much power as the boys which is pretty exciting. Its not peter who does all the fighting. Wendy is by his side bell is very exciting. And, of course im captain hook, so thats a slightly different take. And that leads into my next question. How is it being a woman playing captain hook . Is that unusual . It is really unusual. Oftentimes, peter is cast as a woman, because hes supposed to be a little boy, but i dont know many productions if any where the captain hook has been a woman. I love it. Its exciting. I love being able to swashbuckle and have a hook and to be a villain. Also interesting at a time when a lot of womens parts, women sort of disappear from the american stage for a certain number of years until they become grandmothers.
