Near 80 in the suburbs. Low 80s for philadelphia and unusually warm weather continues for new jersey. The Lehigh Valley and delaware, too. Ill break this down hour by hour when im back in a few minutes. 6 02. A philadelphia firefighter is recovering after being injured battling a fire in the holmesburg neighborhood. Randy gyllenhaal is live with what happened. Reporter that firefighter suffering injuries. Battling hot spots that might keep popping up hours later. Both homes destroyed. From here you can see the entire side of the house as well as the front taking heavy damage. The flames erupted just before 1 00. The video from philly fire news shows the flames popping out of the roof. Firefight hers to call in extra engines and evacuate one of the buildings. The twoalarm blaze was put under control about an hour later. According to fire officials we know that four people are displaced, two from each of the homes, a third home here took some damage and that philly firefighter was taken to the hospital but were told that firefighter only has minor injuries. The investigation into what exactly sparked this fire and all this damage still under way. One of the neighbors told me it appears this started on the back deck. Im Randy Gyllenhaal, nbc 10 news. Randy, thank you. The red cross is helping several people after fire ripped through their home in camden county. Nbc 10 was on Medford Court where flames broke out around 2 30 this morning. Fire fighters put them out within minutes. Luckily no one was hurt. Investigators now looking for the cause of that fire. This morning a philadelphia neighborhood is hoping for a quick arrest in the shooting of a much loved store owner. The woman neighbors call mama is still in the hospital. Police say a man in a dark hoodie walked in the shop friday night, demanded money. But when he couldnt get any he shot the victim before running out. Neighbors rushed to help her as she was bleeding on the floor of her store. When she said mommy is bleeding, i ran into the store. Thats when she was moaning and moved her head and i saw the bullet hole spurting blood and this pool of blood on her chest, down her legs covering her floor. The Grocery Store is still closed and Police Continue to search for the shooter. They have Surveillance Video but theyre not releasing it at the moment. Hurricane nate is down graded to a Tropical Storm, making landfall near biloxi, mississippi, off brushing southern louisiana. Officials are concerned about storm surge. Flooding there inundated the lower level of this parking garage overnight. You can see cars and trucks bobbing around in the water. There are no reports of anyone hurt. Heres the latest on nate. The storm came ashore as a category 1 hurricane within the last few hours. Again, its been downgraded to a Tropical Storm. It was the first to make landfall in mississippi since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Power was knocked out to homes and businesses and this was the scene in nearby mobile, alabama. You can see floodwaters. Nate is expected to sweep north from the gulf coast along the alabama mississippi line. Were watching rain move in to the Lehigh Valley. Here is the first of the rain. The upper lehigh and a few sprinkles south and east. No heavy rain here but we could see some downpours, even a chance of a thunderstorm, some isolated showers that are a little bit heavier to the west north of harrisburg. We are going to get rain. It falls apart as it gets to the shore. Still a chance of light showers. Hour by hour the forecast is calling for those showers to this morning. Not too many showers at 6 00 this evening. The clouds will remain. Clouds and temperatures in the low 80s today. A chance of a shower or thunderstorm this evening and then by tomorrow morning look at the rain thats moving in, and thats whats left of nate that will be coming into the area at noontime with the potential for heavy rain moving through northeastern maryland into delaware at that time and then swinging through the area during the afternoon hours. We are tracking Tropical Storm nate which made two landfalls as a hurricane along the gulf coast causing flooding and other problems. Up next a live report from mobile, alabama. For fourth time in six weeks a major storm is impacting the united states. Tropical storm nate is now lashing one of the only regions of the gulf coast that dodged three previous hurricanes. National correspondent jay gray is live in mobile, alabama. What can you tell us about the situation there . Reporter ted, most of the wind has died off, the rain all but gone. You can see, though, still serious issues here. The bay several blocks away, now pouring into the center of the city here. Nate made a second landfall over the mississippi coast. With the high surf and wave action its pretty well covered the road with debris. Reporter the effects of the storm felt through the florida panhandle, 85 to 90mileanhour winds and driving rain pushing water into roadways and other places its not supposed to be. The storm one of the fastest ever in the gulf rushing through the area as quickly as it moved in. This is an unusual storm. Again with just a minimal amount of damage we hope. Reporter that was not the case as nate ripped through Central America earlier in the week. Blamed for at least two dozen deaths across the region. This year is one of the ten most active on record. 14 named storms and nine hurricanes, five of those major hurricanes, category 3 or higher. Nate, the strong reminder that Hurricane Season continues through the month of november. Look, this was a quick moving storm. It delivered a lot of rain. It was a Petroleum Facility but venezuela agreed to turn it back over to new jersey after finishing cleanup work. New Jersey Natural Lands trust will take over operations. Coming up on 20 minutes past 6 00 and we are seeing some rain drops. Just moving into burks county, the Lehigh Valley and will head into the rest of the area this morning. This afternoon its going to be dryer but the clouds will persist all day and the warm temperatures, thats a warm rain falling in the Lehigh Valley. When rain moves into new jersey temperatures will be about where they are right now if not warm. 74 right now in turnersville. We would normally see morning temperatures in the 40s and low 50s this time of year. These numbers will be creeping into the low 80s. The temperature trend has us in the low 80s right on through tuesday. And then a cooldown. The average High Temperature is 69 degrees. Were way above that for today. Thats true for today. Steadier light showers in burks county and the lee valley but this is the band yet to come. This is a cold front. This is not the wet weather from nate. Nate is still to the south, no longer a hurricane, a Tropical Storm with a tremendous amount of moisture is really making time. This storm is moving to the north northeast at 23 miles an hour. All that moisture is going to be heading into the northeast and so we can count having some heavy downpours in our area for tomorrow. For today some showers coming through this morning and then the temperatures hit 81 degrees this afternoon. Theres still a chance and an outside chance of a thunderstorm. The steadier rain here for columbus day moves in during the day, arrives in the late morning. The rain moves on and then were left with partly cloudy skies tuesday. Just a slight chance tuesday. A better chance of scattered showers wednesday. Well get some breaks of sunshine and breaks of 80 by wednesday afternoon. Even cooler thursday and friday. A third home is also damaged. New this morning Newark Police are looking for a missing man arrested this week for harassing university of delaware students. Police now think he may harm himself or others. David timez was arrested after he chased three students as they walked back to their dorms last sunday. Students say he made a cutting gesture across his throat before running after them. They escaped into a building and called 911. Police say timez is now bald and no longer has green eyebrows. This morning Hurricane Nate is now a Tropical Storm after making a second landfall near biloxi, mississippi. Officials are worried about storm surge swamping lowlying areas from louisiana to the florida panhandle. Heres a look at nates impact on bay st. Louis, mississippi, last night. You can see heavy rain and street flooding. The made landfall in a remote part of louisiana as a category 1 hurricane. President trump issued disaster decks for mississippi and louisiana feeding federal aid to those states. Nate churned the surf in southern louisiana yesterday packing high winds and driving rain. It looked as if new orleans will be spared the full force of the storm. The mayor says he expects some flooding not on the scale of Hurricane Katrina. Because this storm is moving so quickly at an unprecedented speed that conditions are going to deteriorate rapidly. I have my food, i have my supplies, i have a little generator. The mayor lifted a citywide curfew last night. Officials say most in the storm zone stocked up on supplies and rode out the storm. This morning a note found in the las vegas shooters hotel rooms gives a frightening new perspective into the planning of the massacre. This is a cold front, a steady area of light rain to central pennsylvania this swing through this morning. You see its drying out to the west. Thats what well see this afternoon. Theres a few spotty showers there. The afternoon may not be completely dry. And tomorrow will not be dry. Were watching whats left of nate. Nate is no longer a hurricane but still a strong Tropical Storm and look at the rain. This is drenching rain thats moving athe panhandle of florida into mississippi, and its heading to the north northeast about 23 miles an hour. That storm will keep on going. And then into the evening hours well see it clearing out. By early Tuesday Morning that rain moves on and we may get a mainly dry day on tuesday. As far as rainfall totals with what we get today and whats coming our way for tomorrow, could be more than an inch, two in the reading area. Philadelphia will get a range, just over half an inch while millville gets more than an inch. Good rainfall. Its been dry lately. Thats certainly going to change today and again tomorrow. Were following breaking news in northeast philadelphia where two people have been taken to the hospital after a row home fire. Nbc 10s Randy Gyllenhaal just got to that scene a few minutes ago. Randy, what are you finding out . Reporter ted, this is the second row home fire in the area overnight this is happening right behind me, broke out about an hour ago, less than an hour ago. You can see they have a ladder going up. Two people were transported from this fire which is on let me just doublecheck on fremont street. The second in this area about 1 00 a. M. Another fire broke out. We have video from overnight where four people were displaced. Those flames in holmesburg, wingate street. Firefighters had to call in extra units and were forced to evacuate one of the buildings overnight. That twoalarm blaze was under control. About an hour later four people in that fire were displaced including two destroyed homes, a third with damage. A philadelphia firer was taken to the hospital with minor inju injuries.
