Protesters still angry over the decision to acquit white Police Officer jason stockily in the 2011 shooting death of Anthony Lamar smith after a high speed chase. Stockily defended his actions after the verdict. I did not murder Anthony Lamar smith. U2 and ed sheeren have both canceled shows. This morning London Police are still searching a home south of the city looking for fridays evidence on a subway car. Its scarry. My boys were out. Frightened for them. Frightened for my family. Reporter now a second arrest, a 21yearold man taken in west of the city by Counter Terrorism police. This after they arrested an 18yearold man in dover at a port. Hes still in custody this morning. At this stage were keeping an open mind over whether more than one person is responsible for the attack. We are still pursuing lines of inquiry and at great pace. 30 people injured friday when a wall of flames spread through the subway car during the morning rush hour. Some suffered burns, others were hurt in the stampede to escape. The bomb in a bucket. The detonator worked bag is on fire. But the main charge did not. I think he feels as if it was mcconnell, ryan, Reince Priebus that were deciding when they were going to take up certain items and when votes were going to be, what item they would tackle next. By doing this, by sort of short circuiting, i think he was more motivating by sending a message to ryan and mcconnell, im in charge. Im going to decide when well do certain things. These deals are things that he has to deal with but he wants to go for the bigger agenda items. Chuck, the president looked very comfortable this week, whether it was dealing with Chuck Schumer and nancy pelosi and Getting Positive Press Coverage for cutting what looked like a bipartisan deal, whether he was carrying out the ceremonial aspects of the president going around florida. He even had Hillary Clinton back as a foil as shes been on her book tour and been all over tv this week. But some members of his base, at least the loudest members of his base in cable news and talk radio and some members of Congress Like steve king of iowa came out pretty strongly against the president. Does he worry about disrupting some of those people who helped him make president . This is the height of election season in one tiny montana town, and on the eve of the final vote, the candidates are making their final grumpy cases to the public. If you drive by, you cant miss the side. 596 nice people and one old sore head. Theyre about to elect a new sore head here, and you know us media types, we just couldnt stay away. What does it require to be a sore head . Well, not really very much. The sore head is theoretically the town grumpiest person, but in fact its usually one of the nice guys who gets picked. Bob toner himself was the sore head here himself once. He knows the considerable responsibility that goes with this elected office. Great falls tribune put ruddyard in the top 50 things to do on your bucket list. One of them was to shake hands with the old sore head in ruddyard. Really . Yeah. Eight, ten guys stopped in and had to have a picture taken. Eight or ten . Yeah. That was a big deal. Stop the influx. Eight or ten more than weve had in the last couple weeks. Not unlike other american elections, money plays a big role here. To vote, you put a dollar in a coffee can with the candidates name and picture on it. The money raised supports the towns senior center. I know myself well enough to know that i have the potential to be a sore head. You might have to stay in town for a while to really drum up enough money to be in contention, but wed enjoy your participation. On a perfect late summer evening, all of the candidates but one showed up for a pot luck picnic. Do you want to be elected, sir . Well, theres better candidates than me. Yeah. More deserving, i guess. Nicer or sorer . I dont like none of them really but theyre all okay. There were no stump speeches. They told me all you had to do was show up. But the homemade food thats a frog eye salad. Whats a frog eye salad. Was truly inspirational. Ive made this observation from years in the news business. Master of the obvious. No women candidates. Does that mean no woman is a sore head . It means we have some smart men in our community. Folks in ruddyard take that Community Spirit thing to heart. They even invited me into the election pool. Then you get to be a nomination for the old sore head. Still, there was the matter of residency, and they figured that out, too. Wow. This is kind of the fancy end of town out here. You get down to the end of the street, you take a left. There you go. An outhouse. I like it. They joke about just how much sense this might make. Get you into the residency here in town. If that allows me to qualify it wouldnt take too much. Clearly not. And harry smith now live. So the polls close tomorrow. Yeah. Last day of voed iting. This is decidedly less contentious than the most recent election. Pretty tough. Smart money in rudyard is on bob christensen. Hes 80. Hes the only one that didnt show up at the Big Convention there. Hes 80 years old. He was out zip lining that day. Wow. So the smart money is on bob. For a great cause. That senior center. Needs all that money. Needs all that money. And heres the other thing, you bought you stop in rudyard, theres stuff to do there. Theres a lot of stuff to do there. If you go across the street from the tire shop, theres a car museum. You have to stop at the tire shop to get keys to get into the car museum and you saw the story from north dakota. Sure. They have their own Dinosaur Museum there. Her lifelong fight as a gay rights activist culminated in the 2013 Court Decision that made her an icon. When thea died in 2009, windsor did not qualify for the spousal exemption on estate tax because the state did not recognize her as a spouse so she sued and eventually won new rights for americans in samesex marriages. Edies win laid the groundwork for a land mark Supreme Court decision two years later that recognized the constitutional right of same sex couples to marry anywhere in america. She was born in philadelphia. She got a masters in applied mathematics from New York University and was hired in 1958 as a programmer by ibm.
