(pic) said the Wanita and Youth wings were encouraged to submit a list of potential candidates last year based on their qualifications and party conditions.
“We have sent in a list of 25 women candidates for the consideration of the party. We believe the most winnable candidate should be proposed because at the end of the day, we must win more seats to strengthen MCA,” she said during a press conference after the Wanita MCA's 45th annual general meeting on Saturday (March 6).
Separately, on the issue of child marriages, Heng said the issue transcends racial and religious background, and should be handled seriously as a children’s rights issue.
