Walk-in voting starts for Lakeland's Southeast District runoff
LAKELAND – Two candidates are vying for ballots at the polls as early walk-in voting has started for Lakeland's May 4 special election runoff.
Polk County educator Shandale Terrell faces off against small-business owner Mike Musick in a runoff election for the rights to represent the Southeast District "D" residents. The winner will join the City Commission for eight months, serving the remainder of the term vacated when Scott Franklin was elected to Congress.
The city's early polling location is the Polk County Government Center at 930 E. Parker St. in Lakeland, open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays through Monday.
