They were interviewing a Business Leader when a disgruntled employee took them down. He later took his own life but not before bragging on social media. Kenneth moten is in virginia for us. Reporter good morning. The intense Investigation Continues today. Meanwhile, this community is honoring the fallen journalists that had Bright Futures ahead. Late into the night investigators searched for clues and answers at the home of the man accused of gunning down two roanoke journalists on television. It did not register that it was gunshots. It probably should have. She was doing a little feature story. Reporter Alison Parker and the man behind the camera, adam ward, were in the middle of a live interview when former colleague Vester Flanagan opened fire. The news crew was killed. The woman being interviewed was seriously injured. Flanagan was injured after a crash and died from a self inflicted gunshot wound. At some point in his life it appears that things were spiraling out of control. Reporter he went by Bryce Williams on the air. He had a history of workplace problems, bouncing from station to station over the years. In a rambling manifesto sent to abc news after the shootings, he wrote, why did i do it . The Church Shooting in charleston was the tipping point. I have been a human power keg for a while waiting to go boom. 27yearold ward was engaged to marry a producer at the station who was in the control room at the moment of the shooting. Parker 24 years old was in love with her boyfriend, wdbj anchor chris hurst. I lost the love of my life. It was not slow. It was incredibly painful and immediate. The shooter posted a video of his attack online and went on a twitter rant about his victims. Police have the evidence and it has been removed from social media and replaced with a lot of support from fellow journalists tweeting the we stand with wdbj. Nypd investigators say yesterday just after 5 00 in the afternoon williams was playing behind a double parked delivery truck. As she went out in the street an s. U. V. Was driving around the truck and struck the little girl. Trained experts in cpr tried to save her. The driver of the s. U. V. , reginald august stopped at the scene. Police say right after the accident, though, he was punched by a man that knew little williams. Ryan roman is facing assault charges. Meanwhile, Williams Family and friends are coping with this unbelievable loss. She was playing ball with her friends and then i went to the corner store over there. I came back. Everybody was around the block. I get closer and i realize that is her. I was like, oh, my god. Reporter well, Jayden Williams was pronounced dead at kings county hospital. The driver of the s. U. V. Was not charged in the accident. He had to be taken to the hospital after he suffered those injuries after he was punched. This is an incredible tragedy for this neighborhood. The confusion after the video cut out is apparent on the morning show anchor. Not sure what happened there. Reporter police say the staffers were gunned down by a former coworker, Vester Flanagan. Two years ago he worked at the same station going by the on air name of Bryce Williams. He was disgruntled in every sense of the word. But he left two years ago. Now here he is two years later executing a mission to commit murder. Reporter in the hours after the shooting while flanagan was on the run, he posted on twitter saying adam went to hr after working with me one time and, quote, alison made racist comments. In documents sent to abc news yesterday morning, flanagan claims he was a victim of racism and sexual abuse and mistreated for being gay and black. His former news director says all the allegations are not true. After a lot of investigation internally and externally, all of his allegations were deemed to be unfounded. Flanagans Family Friends spoke last night offering prayers for the victims. Our thoughts and prayers at this time are with the victims family and with Wdbj Television station family. Thank you.
