Look at the damage to the tires there and the front end of this vehicle, burst into flames. We can also show you here exactly how this accident transpired. This is the southbound side of the new jersey turnpike on that outer roadway but you can see the three roadways next to it are all still closed down if you look really closely underneath the overpass youve got the wires down and utility workers on the scene trying to clear that up for you. That is why only that northbound outer roadway is open and let me tell you, when i say nightmare delays that is exactly what i mean. To give you an idea there is exactly 5. 8 miles between interchange 12 and interchange 11 and i can tell you that the delays go back longer than that 5. 8 miles, clearly going back towards interchange 10 which is another 2mile jamup and thats just on the turnpike all your alternates jammed although we are finally see a little butt of relief on the northbound side of 109, but the southbound side, forget about it, it is just as bad. Another fire in new jersey, this one tonight leaving a lot of people homeless. The fire at an apartment complex in Ocean Township, 12 units wiped out and 15 firefighters treated for heat exhaustion. Newscopter 7 over the burned out building and the aftermath. Eyewitness News Reporter a. J. Ross is at the scene with the latest. A. J. Reporter bill, this is still a very active scene here in Ocean Township. You can see the aftermath of that vicious blaze quickly ripped through 12 Apartment Units here this afternoon. Firefighters have been battling this blaze for nearly five hours and counting and this overwhelming heat today has presented more than a few challenges. Take a look at this chopper video shot earlier this afternoon. Preliminary reports say the blaze sparked in foliage near the south side of the exterior building, then quickly spread up the walls and throughout inside. Two Police Officers who were the first on scene desperately ran door to door to get families out. They were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. One was released a short time ago. Todays heat was another huge factor with 15 firefighters being treated for heat exhaustion, the blaze was at one point labeled a six alarm fire because of all the Additional Units called in to help and 12 apartments total were destroyed displacing several dozen families. The whole bushes was on fire and the window was about to come in. So i got everybody out of the house, called 911, got the other two occupants out of the house, ill call 911 and i will evacuate this way. And thats what we did. I think we got everybody out safe. Many are coming home from work right now, and this is what they are seeing for the first time and i spoke with the pio, he calls it the worst fire in Ocean Township in nearly 30 years. Alley Mohammad Brown on charges of murder and terrorism and the shooting death of brendan tevlin. The 19yearold College Student killed last year as he sat in his car at a traffic light in west orange. His mother delivering a bold statement after the emotional court appearance. It is our believe that belief that brendan was senselessly executed for no reason other than he was an american and that this outrageous fact will be proven at trial. Investigators say brown admitted to killing tevlin as vengeance for lives lost in iraq, afghanistan, syria and iran. New York City Health officials tonight trying to ease growing concerns about the legionnaires outbreak in the bronx. Mayor de blasio says the disease is slowing even though the number of cases grew overnight. There are now a total of 86 cases of legionnaires, thats up from 81 yesterday and at least seven people have died. All the cases have been in the south bronx. We are going to keep emphasizing to all new yorkers particularly folks who live here in the south bronx, if you have symptoms that might be associated with legionnaires disease, please seek treatment immediately.
