USD breaks ground on new School of Health Sciences, set to open in 2023
The future of South Dakota’s health sciences expanded Thursday as the University of South Dakota broke ground for construction of the new School of Health Sciences.
Delta Dental of South Dakota Foundation also announced a $1 million donation to the new School to support USD’s dental hygiene program. In honor of the gift, USD’s community dental hygiene clinic will bear the name “Delta Dental Oral Health Center.”
“This is truly a momentous day for the future of the University of South Dakota but also for the health and well-being for all the citizens in this state,” USD president Sheila Gestring said. “The past few months have demonstrated for us the importance of a world-class health care infrastructure.”
