Update on Medfield's Dale Street School project

The Medfield Public School District submitted the Preferred Schematic Report to the Massachusetts School Building Authority on Dec. 23, 2020. As the project enters a new phase of the design process, the town/district has decided to evaluate the opportunities of the MSBA Model School Program. This decision was made in an effort to explore all available opportunities for the Dale Street School project from an educational and fiscal perspective.
The Model School Program seeks to effectively adapt and re-use the designs of successful, previously constructed K-12 schools. The intent of the Model School Program is to save time and money during the design and construction process by implementing already tested designs. The Model School Program does not guarantee cost savings as many factors can influence costs, but an analysis will be done to determine if the program is a fit for the Dale Street School and if there are any potential cost savings to the town.
