UK Board Approves iPads for First-year Students in Fall 2021

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 19, 2021)
— First-year students at the University of Kentucky in Fall 2021 can expect to receive a free iPad, as the UK Board of Trustees today approved continuation of the school’s Smart Campus Initiative with Apple that began in 2019.
The university will continue to pay the lease on the iPads that were distributed to first-year students in Fall 2019 and Fall 2020 and will lease/purchase additional iPad kits (iPad Air, pencil and keyboard) from Apple for incoming first-year students in Fall 2021.
