Two contested Dripping Springs City Council races set for May 1 election

Five candidates have filed to run in the upcoming Dripping Springs City Council election, according to City Secretary Andrea Cunningham.
Mayor Pro Tem Taline Manassian will run for re-election in Place 1 unopposed in May, after drawing no competition during the candidate filing period.
Place 3, which is vacant after former mayor and Council Member Todd Purcell resigned and retired Feb. 9, drew two challengers. Geoffrey Tahuahua, who ran for City Council in May 2019, will face Charlie Busbey for the position.
Place 5 incumbent Travis Crow also filed for re-election and will face Sherrie Parks for a chance to retain his place on City Council.
