A tree has been planted at the Mundy Playing Fields in memory of a Thornbury councillor.
Clare Fardell died in August following decades of service on both Thornbury Town Council and South Gloucestershire Council.
She was also a school governor at Gillingstool Primary School for many years and was well known in Thornbury.
Covid-19 restrictions unfortunately meant that only a few of her many colleagues and friends could join Clare’s husband for the tree planting last Tuesday.
Deputy mayor of Thornbury, Chris Davies, said “Clare made an enormous contribution to the town and was involved in many projects and organisations that improved the lives of local people, such as the Over 60s Team Room at the Town Hall, Thornbury In Bloom and Thornbury Volunteer Centre.
