>> reporter: they are more personal recreational boats. bill's boat, he is a trucker, and he's been a trucker for 35 or 40 years, and this was his pride and joy. he put all his money into this. on the weekends he would enjoy the peace and quiet on the river. he poured all his money into the boats but he didn't necessarily live on them but spent most of his time. >> wow, rest and relaxation, but not this morning. surae chinn from theph in -- from the warph in the southeast. this bus ran into a wooded median in new york. investigators believe that a blownout tire may have caused the wreck. names of victims have not been released at this point. the murder suspect who escaped from a holding cell in dc superior court will be formally charged today. on friday james brewer switched his arm band i.d. with another inmate who was set to be released. he was allowed to walk out a free man. brewer turned himself in, and he not only faces charges in the shooting death of a 71-year- old man, but he faces charges on eluding police. no new meetings scheduled today with the president and congressional leaders, but all sides are racing to find a solution before time runs out. the white house is not giving up on the massive deficit reduction deal. leaders agree that a deal needs to be reached by friday so congress can have enough time to act. >> there's enough time to get something big done. the president made it clear he wants to do something substantial. >> the house will vote on tuesday on the republican- backed measure, but the proposal would drastically cut spending and rule out new taxes, and it's not expected to pass the senate. time for the latest your money report in the morning. >> jess is here. >> fingers crossed for today. it was a rough week last week. a lot of it because of what mike was talking about, the debt problems in the u.s. and europe, overshadowing the strong corporate profits. last week the market dropped 2%. that was the worst week in nearly a year, but friday was not horrible. the dow standing at 12479, adding 42 points in trading on friday. the nasdaq up by 27 points, up 1%, and the s&p 500 up by about 7. it will be a fairly light week on tap for economic data. still wall street will be a wash in the corporate news this week. in total, more than a fifth of the s&p 500 companies, and half the 30 member dow jones industrial market will report their profits, including mcdonalds, g.e., and apple. economists are seeing a pickup in hiring for the rest of the year, even as they predict slower growth overall. the national business economics found in a quarterly survey, 43% of respondents found their firms will increase spending over the next 6 months. here's the good thing, none of the companies plan significant layoffs. the manufacturing sector has the strongest outlook, and of course it's coming from a really low base. >> but still the improving picture is an inproving picture. >> what do you have in the next half an hour? >> yeah, hardly. hello, thank you very much. we are just 12 minutes away from the 6:00 hour. for the first time this morning, we turn on the yellow light. we are following crash activity out in the silverspring area. open up the door to take you out there. the latest situation. southbound new hampshire avenue where it meets lockwood drive. notice only two lanes of traffic to the right able to get by. overall, not too much going on. volume very, very light. to the maps, taking a closer look at 66 in virginia. headed eastbound, no problems. outside, we are tracking it. a good amount of volume around 234. the delay building up to the area. 95 to the map. no issues to report here. moving outside. the prince william parkway, 123, that's where we are seeing congestion, really quick, the outer loop is moving just fine. no problems on 95 to south. still ahead, the latest on the silverspring accident. andrea and mike, back it you. >> thank you. here's what is making news this morning, a woman is killed and five others hurt when her small car collides with a semitruck that was transporting fireworks at the time. it happened over the weekend on a busy san san antonio freeway. the woman was pinned under the vehicle and dragged. witnesses were not able to get the woman out, and she died at the scene. astronauts aboard atlantis said good-bye to the international space station. the astronauts will be leaving for the last time and finish their work in an outpost. on tuesday they will close the hatch and undock from the space station, wrapping up the last shuttle mission. >> we don't know where she is, but casey anthony is a free woman. she walked out of jail on sunday. a crowd of protesters were waiting there holding signs. the florida mother spent 3 years behind bars. she was acquitted but many are angry as she did if -- she did get off of not being convicted of her child's death. we know from police that jermaine palmer claimed he was on pcp when he grabbed a child at best buy. >> we talk to his girlfriend about the incident. >> he wanted me to apologize. >> reporter: a message from a man in jail from the mother of his child. the girlfriend of jermaine palmer says she was at best buy with him and their toddler the day they were arrested saying he was high on pcp and ex-tosy. -- ecstasy. >> i was the one who told him to leave. when i took the child, he was seeing demons and he was trying to hold us both and protect us both. >> reporter: that's when this surveillance comes to play. >> when he hits the ground he blacks out. you can see in the video he hit the ground, seeming like he was dead for a second, right?
