He called for backup as he started to follow three suspicious men. He told dispatch two were white, one was black. When his fellow officers got to the scene for help, they found him shot and killed. Many residents in here knew him as gi joe. We remember him as someone deeply committed to fox lake, to the profession and his fellow officers. Gliniewicz was with the Fox Lake Police department for more than 30 years. He was the father of four sons. Reporter d. C. Residents say the violence in this city is just out of hand. A maryland state trooper is under indictment this morning for alleged sex crimes. Ryan tucker is accused of forcing a woman to engage in a sex act at gunpoint. Prosecutors say tucker was off duty when he picked up the woman in Capitol Heights july 6. The two got into a dispute. Investigators say then tucker allegedly put a gun to the womans head and forced her to perform a sex act. Tucker has been suspended without pay. A Maryland State Commission ask offering recommendations regarding police body cameras. The panel says recordings from the cameras should be released to the public as required by the states Public Information act. The group also says its recommending state lawmakers review privacy matters relating to body camera footage in the 2016 General Assembly session. Reporter happening today d. C. Fox lake Police LieutenantCharles Joseph gliniewicz was shot and killed tuesday while pursuing the suspects on foot.
