The higher court ruled yesterday against double taxation in the state. The justices sided with taxpayers over the government saying its unconstitutional not to allow a tax credit for money residents make in other states. Maryland does not apply the Tax Deduction on a locally piggyback tax collected on income by county. For you this could mean more money in your pocket. For the state, though, a big loss. About 200 million in refunds will be paid back to residents stretching back about eight years. The case came from a maryland couple brian and karen who argued that they were victims of double taxation because they had to pay taxes where they live and where they work. From the states point of view, however, residents who dont pay as much as their neighbors get the same services but cheaper. And thats the states budget will lose about 42 million annually. That said they still havent ruled out the possibility that some object might have hit the trains windshield at some point before the derailment. Police do not want you to approach and engage a suspect but they do want you to take a close look at that video to see if you recognize him and call if you have information. Police arrested 38yearold r they received a call asking them to check on the welfare of that boy. Officers say they found feces in the home and other unsafe conditions. That teenager was placed with a family member. Convicted killer adnan syed is serving a life sentence for the 1999 murder of his ex girlfriend hae min lee. His story gained National Attention when the podcast serial reexamined his case. Now the Maryland Court of special appeals wants sworn testimony from asia mclean, a classmate of syeds. She claims she saw him at the library the same time that prosecutors believe the killing happened. Her testimony will be used as the Court Considers whether to grant him a new trial. Pass a trade bill now or be prepared to postpone the memorial day holiday recess. Thats an ultimatum to the senate from mitch mcconnell. He also wants lawmakers to renew the patriot act and keep funds flowing for construction. The head of the aflcio is saying no to the trade deal. He says a bad trade deal is worse than no deal at all.
