According to our partners at the Washington Post, governor larry hogan wanted to send the National Guard soon after the recent riots in Baltimore City but could not get a hold of the mayor for an hour and a half. The other report alarming numbers of the thousands of people who have been seriously hurt in Baltimore Police custody. The Justice Department now investigating Baltimore Police practices and now we are lettering disturbing numbers. 2600 people in fact have suffered serious head and facial injuries, even broken bones while in Baltimore Police custody. It june 2012 and april 2015, Correctional Officers at the jail in baltimore refused to admit 2600 prisoners because they were so badly hurt. Police are trying to track down the person responsible for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman in northeast d. C. Police say the woman accepted a ride from the suspect just before 3 00 yesterday more than near 11th and g streets. They say the driver soughted the woman and refused to let her leave the car. The woman did manage to get away fortunately. Police are looking for the driver, though, of a black four door sedan and uber decal on the left passenger window. The teen charged with punching a man at the Eastern Market metro station is scheduled to be released from jail. There are two conditions for 19 yearldz elijah smith 19year old elijah smith. Hell have to wear an ankle bracelet and obey a curfew. He is accused of hitting a man twice his age on a metro escalator. Hes already on probation for a 2014 assault in silver spring. Four people are charged with the four people charged with the murder of two officers are due in court today. Brian webb has the latest. Reporter the community of hattiesburg came together at a candlelight memorial to honor two Police Officers killed in the line of duty. Reporter 34yearold officer Benjamin Deen and 25 yearldz officer liquori tate were shot and killed during a traffic stop saturday night. Deen pulled over a cadillac escalate for speeding and then called for backup. Three suspects were arrested within four hours. A fourth suspect 28yearold Cornelius Clark was apprehended sunday. Police say 29yearold marvin banks, his 26yearold brother curtis banks, and 22yearold Joanie Callaway are charged with capital murder. All are expected to make their First Court Appearance today. Hattiesburgs mayor says this is a shock to the small city. I think what we need to do now is celebrate the lives of these two individuals. Reporter homes was a good friend of officer tate. The children of the couple released a statement that said this, we are heart broken over the senseless tragedy. Dick and jody are a warm and loving couple. They said they cant imagine or know of anyone who would want to hurt them. Neighbors who we have been talking around here say the same thing. They say this is a very quiet neighborhood. Topping our news this morning, thousands of people have been sent to baltimores jail but turned away by Correctional Officers because their injuries were too severe. The report comes as the Justice Department begins its investigation into Baltimore Police practices. According to the Baltimore Sun in about the last three years, 2600 prisoners were turned away from central booking for broken bones as well as serious facial and head injuries. All these people were sent to the jail without getting medical attention by police. 25yearold freddie gray was also denied medical treatment. He died in Police Custody of injuries he suspended, injury sustained, injuries to his voice box, spain and to his head. Many say the mayors delayed public response to the riots made matters worse in that city. In fact according to our News Partners at the Washington Post the governor could not get a hold of the mayor for 90 minutes. She even reportedly dodged calls by his top aide. Theres extra security today at fairmont heights high school. Were told that will be the case all week long. Its the result of a fight that took place last week. The Prince Georges County county Public School system says several fairmont heights students were charged with assault and disruption of school activities. Some of the students have been suspended. An investigation is still ongoing. Funeral services for a fallen d. C. Firefighter are scheduled for later this week. Lieutenant kevin mcrae collapsed and died wednesday after fighting a highrise fire in the shaw neighborhood. The fire and Ems Department says the funeral arrangements have been made for friday morning at the d. C. Armory. A public viewing will be held from 9 00 until 11 00 followed by the funeral service. Firefighters from across the country are expected to attend. Could former Virginia Governor mob mcdonnell Bob Mcdonnell be making headway in his appeal. Mcdonnell and his wife, maureen, have been allowed to remain free, even after both were sentenced earlier this year. Jody was found dead inside by her daughter. Dick was found dead outside in the backyard. Their children showed up at the home because they were worried about their parents when they didnt show up for a mothers day event with their grandchildren and two kids. Thats when they went inside and found the bodies of their parents. Police arent saying the cause of death, just that there was trauma to their upper bodies and their deaths are now considered homicides. The children of the couple released a statement. With levels of heavy enterrick organizisms manying from the intestinal tract. That is disgusting. Reporter in two of the machines we found no bacteria in any of the samples. If three other machines we found bacteria in just the water samples. The remaining five had bacteria either on the machines, in the water or both places. These germs can cause gastrointestinal issues and stomach upset in peep, especially if they have compromised immune systems. Areas in the suburbs are into the 60s headed to about the low to mid80s today. Some areas are going to be in the upper 80s where youre not going to see as good of a chance of rain. Tragedy on mothers day where police are investigating the death after couple who were found dead here at their home on ridge drive. The couple dick and jody vilardo were discovered by their children who came here to look for them when they didnt show up for a mothers day event. Police say the couples two children are devastated and the children say they dont know of anyone who would want to hurt them.
