Now to the protests over the death of freddie gray, they popped up again today in baltimore as the investigation into how he was injured in Police Custody continues. Garrett haake is live at city hall where todays demonstrations began. Todays demonstrations started about two hours ago and for a while this entire park behind me was completely full of people, but today the city of baltimore was prepared for the crowd. They shut down several streets around city hall and, in fact, even told nonessential workers here to go ahead and take off early for the day. This is now the fifth day in a row that hundreds of people have taken to the streets of baltimore to express their anger over the death of 25year old freddie gray and to demand answers to just how he was so seriously hurt while in Police Custody. They filled the park in front of city hall, which the city largely closed down on their behalf, and organizers said these protests will continue and they hope their scope will continue to grow. I think that theres got to be persistent traction so that the city hall and the Police Department know its not an event. Its a movement and now its much larger than freddie gray. The Defense Attorneys want the 10yearold Nancy Dunning murder case severed from the two recent killings arguing theres no evidence connecting severance to that crime or to the others. Prosecutors say theyre connected by motive, that severance was motivated to kill after losing custody of his child. They quoted severances own words when he wrote, violence wins, and, assassination is in the best interest of the child. A friend says it was taken out of context. Charles is into fantasy gaming amongst other things and most of his writings are associated with that and not to be taken literally or have any connection with real life.
