Those who live and work nearby say dump trucks cause traffic and an eyesore delivering hundreds of truckloads of waste a day bringing dirt, debris, rocks, nail and rubble that falls off the trucks and creates not only a mess, but a hazard. This is a half a brick with mortar on it. Its somebodys demolition and i found this in the middle of the asphalt. Theres a lot more of this on the shoulder and in the mud. This is falling off a truck and its right in the middle of the asphalt. The landfill has been there since the late 1970s and hundreds of people moved into brandnew homes literally right up to the landfill property line. Obviously they didnt consider it a significant issue for them. Whenever you move into an area, you look at how its changing and what its potential is. You have to factor that in. Theres a lot of people who bought in communities in and around the landfill that feel the same way that, it depreciates their home values. Reporter the Community Says this is not just a quality of life issue, but a policy issue arguing that having a debris landfill today and for the next 22 years is old technology, that the county should be looking to recycle.
