It is very disheartening, there is no room for hatred and this type of ignorance in cherry hill at all. Police performed sweeps after the threats and found nothing. Authorities are asking the public to contact them if they see anything, or hear anything unusual. Police are still trying to figure out is what behind vandalism at Jewish Cemetery over th weekend. Fbi has joined investigation, to determine whether they are in fact, hate crimes. Police, k9 units and county investigators then conduct a full full search of the building and people were allowed back in two hours later. It is very disheart evening is there no room for hatred and this type of ignorance in cherry hill at all. It is very hard to describe having been to the cemetery yesterday and seeing over 100 headstones just toppled in no order dating back 100 years or so, it is extraordinarily distressing because that that is hallow ground. We reported on that yesterday, we were talking about it, and as you see hours went on then we heard about these bomb threats. It is like it is getting worse this is not first time for bomb threats, it is the fifth wave of bomb threats. For wilmington jcc it is their third time. You know, we often try to make sense of the senseless. Have you been able to grasp why the increase, why knot now everyone has their own ideas but the fact that our country is so divided at this moment, that people on the extremes feel emboldened and powered with the ability to perhaps come out of the shadow s, out of the places where they were lurking in years past. Thankfully since this has come out and things we have been. Reporter ing there has been a positive response. People trying to fight this with love and different summit s and things but how do you fight this . Like what can you do really. Well, there is many things we can do on the governmental level, for instance we want to be sure that our law enforcement, are fully engaged , educated about hate crimes, how to assess them, how to act, with the community , ones one happens. We have to make sure that our communities understand and people are not afraid to come forward when something happens we need to ask our leaders to use their pulpits, their place s of power, to call out this behavior whenever they see it. You know, tonight the president is going to speak before the congress what an opportunity for him to no Uncertain Terms talk about what is going on in the country. When we look at any administration, bush administration, Obama Administration of you received a clear outline from the Trump Administration on how they plan to deal with this. We have suggestions but we have not set received any kind of clear guideline. In addition to using the bully pulpit we want to make sure there is increased funding for schools so they can work object anti bias work or anti hate work, bring students to get at early ages so perhaps years to come life will be better and different.
