This line of showers and look at all of that lightning. The darker red showing you where that very heavy rain is imbedded with that line of showers and storms. Watch how long it takes to arrive. If we put tracker on this particular line, it doesnt make it toward the philadelphia area until a little after 10 00 oclock. So its moving only at about 20 miles an hour. In the meantime, temperatures have been warm and also that humidity has been up. Its 88 degrees currently in reading as well as allentown. 88 degrees. We have low 80s in Atlantic City as well as millville. 82 currently in philadelphia. The dew point temperature, thats basically a measure of moisture in the atmosphere, any time its above 60, its going to feel sticky and once we move into the 70 or better category it starts to feel down right oppressive. And time now for your fox 29 Weather Authority. I guess we got our eye on some wet weather. Yeah, thats right. Especially later on this evening, dawn. Thats when most of the action will arrive across our area. In the meantime, its warm and it is down right muggy. Look at that humidity. 67 almost double what it was this same time yesterday. Those winds are out of the south and west. 3d storm view showing those clouds bubbling up especially toward the central part of the state. Thats where were watching that mainline of showers and thunderstorms. A couple of severe thunderstorm warnings one in central pennsylvania also moving into northern sections of West Virginia and also moving into northern sections of virginia but you can see a lot of lightning associated with this line much its slowly moving to the east only at about 20 miles per hour. So as we zoom a little closer were dry in philadelphia as well as cherry hill, bensalem dry. Yardley drying out but that line of showers and thunderstorms that moved through sections of bucks county now moving into western sections of mercer county. So just outside of the trenton area moving toward hopewell a very heavy thunderstorm and also a lot of vivid lightning with this cell but nothing is severe its lifting on off to the north and east. Fairly quiet for most of us. Going to stay warm and muggy a few scattered showers over the next several hours. But well have to wait until a few more hours as that line slowly heads in our direction. So as we put a tracker on it, you can see moving toward allentown around 8 30, not approaching the philadelphia area according to this until a little after 10 30. So its going to take its time headed in our direction. But once it arrives, we could see some locally heavy rainfall as well as some gusty thunderstorms as that line has produced a couple of severe thunderstorm warnings. You can see most of the action toward the central part of the state. That line will slowly progress toward our area. So a few pockets of scattered showers over the next couple of hours. But by 8 00 oclock, were watching that line move toward the Lehigh Valley as well as the pocono mountains. Then nine, 10 00 oclock, slowly but surely moving toward the philadelphia and i95 corridor. Heres 11 00 oclock. You can see that activity continuing to pull away as we move toward midnight and beyond. So by tomorrow morning, gradual clearing of the skies and just one or two leftover showers out of that system. So recapping the timing from now until 8 00 oclock, warm and humid a few scattered showers across the area. From 8 00 to midnight. The mainline approaches from northwest to south and east. Locally heavy rainfall associated with that. Then from midnight until 5am, a few leftover showers but the humidity will thankfully start to decrease. We made it up to 90 degrees. We saw a little mr. Sunshine across the area. Thats the high. We have mid to upper 80s still area wide, and look at the dew points. At 70 degrees. Any time its above 60 its going to start to feel pretty sticky.
