Bill barnett, of ridley park, received two kidney transplants in his lifetime. He was a fighter. He fought for long time. d transplant at 30, one at 40. Barnett passed away this past spring, at the age of 60. It is upsetting because i never thought i would have to do a walk for him. But i do. And well do it every year. Phillies brigade is standing behind their husband, dad, brother, friends, and pop pop. To make him proud of us for walking for him. Theyre helping to raise money for a cause. That can hopefully help others with kidney disease. There was another walk happening down in delaware today, for the Kidney Foundation, and there is a third in chester county, on october 24th, theyre hoping to raise a combined 700,000. Eugene fin i was on vacation with his family in california for what was supposed to be a relaxing week in july. Shark attacked him when he was in the ocean with his daughter. Nothing too serious, but a gash on his back. And that night, he thinks all of the anxiety gave him chest pains. So he went straight to the hospital. What doctors ended up finding was a walnut size tumor in his kidney. Stage one cancer. If this hasnt happened with the shark, causing me to go in with this chest pain, i would have never known about this cancer. That. That led to a situation that saved his life again. Thats pretty fascinating what you think about it, right . Indeed. Doctors saved 80 of his kidney, as of now he is cancer free. On long island, a drunk driver hit a machine i van with children inside, back up, then hit it again. And as foxs don bowen shows us, dash cam caught the whole thing. Could cents the median, runs over a road sign, and strike a minivan that was recording it all on dash cam. This time you can hear the Young Children and mother inside the machine i van scream. The driver of the suv identified as linda, 53 years old, arrested and charged with a dwi. The accident here at the intersection of wood side avenue, ocean avenue, linda was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital medical center, and treated for minor injuries. Friday after her arraignment released on her own recognisance. No one answered the door at the home, and neighbors here learning of the accident this weekend say theyre outraged, edward powers was right nextdoor. And has a two year old child. It is not a joke.
