Time to check back in with your fox 29 Weather Authority now. Scott, an absolutely perfect day for the parades and the observances and now things will change. Yeah it certainly has been a beautiful Holiday Weekend across the entire area, lucy and iain. Temperatures have been pleasant. Humidity has been low. But we will see some changes in the offing over the next several days. So lets talk about what to expect. That humidity its going to go up over the next several days. The temperatures also heating up. The average high this time of year is 77 degrees. Were looking at upper 80s. 90degree heat and feels like temperatures later on this week could be in the mid 90s so get ready for a real summer preview and then scattered storms especially by the middle part of the week. Pretty quiet right now along the eastern seaboard. Scattered showers and storms. Take look whats happening through sections of texas where they dont need any more rain. Were looking at a nasty line of showers and thunderstorms Severe Weather damaging winds as well as unfortunately flood that is have turned deadly especially around the san marcos area. Moving toward waco as well as dallas picking up very heavy rainfall. So that system will stay off to the south and west of us over the neck several days well see winds turning more out of the south and that will pump up some of that moisture meaning the humidity is really going to jump up over the next several days. The low this morning a mild 63 degrees. The afternoon high 10 degrees above normal. But it didnt feel as oppressive because the humidity levels have been down today. Temperatures right now, you can see still pretty warm upper 70s atlantic city, millville 79 even in the pocono mountains. Low to mid 80s along the i95 i95 corridor and down the shore its a little cooler but still pretty comfortable right now upper 60s low 70s. 72 somers point. 73 degrees right now in the brigantine area. Water temperatures still chilly in the upper 50s to right around 60 degrees. As we roll the clock, you can see temperatures heat up pretty rapidly tomorrow. Upper 80s philadelphia as well as trenton. Were looking at mid to upper 80s even north and west but the humidity is really going to soar as we move toward the middle of the week. You can see wednesday afternoon by 2 00 oclock already 80 in philadelphia. 89 degrees in trenton. So a similar weather pattern each and every day this week. With scattered showers and some thunderstorms. Not a complete washout but just have the umbrella handy over the neck several days especially beginning on wednesday. Upper 60s in the city. Low to mid 60s in the suburbs. Mostly clear that humidity starts to increase a little bit overnight and look at this for tomorrow a High Temperature near 90 degrees. Sun and clouds, warm, the humidity starts to increase as well. And then well keep temperatures close to 90 degrees over the next several days. So if we do hit 90 for three consecutive days it will be our first heat wave. Thats certainly in the offing potentially as temperatures will be borderline, scattered showers and thunderstorms likely especially wednesday continuing through it look like the better part of the upcoming weekend but once again dont cancel any plans. We just have that threat for some scattered showers and storms. A little cooler temperatures close to average by early next week. And once again we are in a moderate drought for some areas especially north and west of philadelphia. So the month of may has really been dry. Some places havent seen any rainfall maybe a tenth or a trace so far this month. Bring it on. We got to have some. We need it. Scott, thank you. Well many War Memorials draw crowds on this holiday but some dont get a lot of attention. Some tributes to Fallen Soldiers go unnotice. Fox 29 weekend anchor Bill Anderson is here now. Bill you fifty threed a lot of those sites today. Reporter i did lucy. I visited a lot of different sights and i got some unfortunate and sad stories in talking to people. All weekend weve acknowledged the sacrifices of so many who lost their lives protecting ours. But this reflection also reminded me of how many local heroes and local memorials that sadly many never new even exist existed. Reporter memorial day is a day to recognize the sacrifices made to protect our freedoms but as lifetime philadelphian i was disappointed in myself that i wasnt fully award of all the memorials of Fallen Soldiers in our area. Today i spent the day seeking them out. Please recognize them. Reporter i started at the korean and vietnam War Memorials memorials. Both memorials are just off the penns landing and even though there were large crowds there today, fundraiseing signs indicated they need more support. At the africanamerican war memorial across from the Franklin Institute i found a small group of soldiers and supporters who say they meet there every year to remember soldiers that fought and died for this country but they say are being overlook. Today is a memorial to realize the unsung heroes, those who did not get recognizeed and that paid the price on the battlefield that came home and then were treated less than a man. Reporter other memorials that some may not be aware of are the dough boys world war ii memorial in Northern Liberties and the pennsylvania arrow and aviator memorial all three recognized local heroes that lost their lives in battle. There are several other memorials in our area and one of the comments made by one of the men at the africanamerican memorial inspired mirror to make sure this is the last year im not fully aware of all the sacrifices that were made for us us. Those soldiers, sailors flyers who sacrificeed hooks gave all and their decedents are not even aware because they were not made aware. Reporter lucy and iain i heard lot of that today. Recurring theme from so many was that its all of our responsibility to make sure that the sacrifices of our veterans are appropriately acknowledged and never forgotten. Hopefully those memorials that are less known this year will be well known and fully funded this time next year. That would be great thing. Thank you so much, bill. Well done, guys. Great piece and great recognition on a day like this. Well state. Thank you.
