Overall hardship and more amtrak will pay 265 million to square up all claims that resulted from the deadly accident. And the victims will see that money pretty soon. Tom klein one of the lawyers who led negotiations with amtrak says this Program Allows a judge to hold hearings and evaluate damages. Now, investigator say the engineer of amtrak train 188 was distracted when he took a turn way too fast causing that train to derail. It was traveling at more than twice the speed limit. Attorneys for the victims say this settlement is fair. Judge davis gave us a mission on the Management Committee who want these victims compensated fairly, efficiently and timely. We took that seriously and we believe that this program will accomplish that. My whole leg was in its mouth report roar joe tanner has a story that few people can tell. He was bitten by a shark believed to be great white along the oregon coast. Now, his right leg is riddled with stitches from his thigh down to his ankle. Off my board and i was kind of resting on it like you would like a high counter and then all of a sudden something grabbed me from blow. Reporter hed been surfing just north of can nan beach on his second run of the day. When the shark pulled him underwater and his mind started racing. Im like no way, this is not happening. Um, and then i thought i was doing to die. Reporter but then his survival april stinks kicked and in he fought back. Punching the shark in the gills underwater until finally it let him go. Then, he had to paddle back to shore. That was the scariest part feeling like youre being traced leaving a trail of bread crumbs. Police say some of them were fired at close range. It was just after 1 30 thursday morning when police respon respo a 911 call about gunfire at this welsh road apartment complex. When they arrived at the nottingham building, they found the body of 36yearold Pauline Simmons. She had been shot to death. She shot one time in the chest. We do believe it was some type of robbery.
