Delays scrolling at the bottom of your screen. Sends us your pictures, you can use facebook, instagram twitter, use the hashtag fox29snow. Without delay, sue, you are the woman of the hour. Lets get right over to you. Yes, we have a lot to talk about this morning because this storm, it is with us now and it extends all the way down to texas. So weve got a lot of time to go before this thing is through with us. And yes as predicted the transition is happening colder air coming in from the northwest, and were seeing the green change over to white, with a little bit of pink inbetween thats where there is sleet. So there is a short period of sleet during the transition from rain to snow. And thats whats happening right now west goshen, Chester County, charlestown, to the north of that, here in philadelphia were just seeing light rain right now, but up in horsham probably starting to seat transition, when you look out the window, allentown has gone over to snow, and down at the jersey shore, southern delaware, all rain at the moment. We still have our winter storm warning in effect for most of the area until 7 00 tonight. Now, up in pocono mountains and in the Lehigh Valley, weve transitioned to Winter Weather advisory. Because thats where we expect the least amount of accumulation. So temperature real critical now in the type of precipitation that we will get. So at 38 degrees in philadelphia but 29 mount pocono, closer to freezing in allentown with 34, just above freezing in reading lancaster, and pottstown where that transition will be happening sooner. Closer to 40 in wildwood, atlantic city, so theyll see the change over last. Potential snowfall, we are still looking at anywhere from five to 8 inches, around the metro area, less to the north and west of us, maybe even less than the three to 5 inches in some places. This is not a northern and western storm. This will ends up ac southern storm, and there are pocket, just depends on where this band sets up, pockets maybe more than 8 inches of snow, some of the models are saying 10 inches, for some places. So lets time it out for you. Right now the rain is changing over to snow, from northwest to southeast. And sleet is mixing in during the transition. Through noon, we will have the bulk of our accumulating snow, but it does look like that snow will last after 12 00 noon it, could stick around for awhile. You saw how big the storm was. So that should help you plan out your day whatever you plan to be doing, if youre up right now you need to run out to 24 hour store bob kelly this would be the time, while still just rain. You know youre up earl when youre at wawa and im on my way into work, and the kid next to you is on his way home. Right. From partying all night. He got the munchies, got a hoagie, he has got the chips the soda, he looked like he had been out all night. Good morning up and early with you 33 03 this thursday morning, right now, it is rain, but that quick that change over starting to occur and the only good thing about the rain is that it has washed away a lot of the yuck, a lot of the slush and a lot of the ice, so were getting almost like hosing down the roadway and getting ready for the next one. The bad thing with the rain is that penndot wasnt able to put down any brine last night in advance of this storm. So, things are going to get tricky through the morning. Here is a live look at route 100, again wet roadways, a lot of puddles out there even in the intersections here, this is a live look, in delaware route one. So looks like weve got all of the cameras all lined up, ready to go. I havent seen any flakes yet. This is live look at route 309 up near 202. Big key though, the snow emergency kicks in here in philadelphia at 6 00 a. M. The most important part for us drivers is that there is no parking permitted on the snow emergency routes. And those routes are clearly marked by the red and white sign that says snow emergency route. If you live in the neighborhoods, down here in center city, you should know where those routes are. Believe me, the tow trucks will be ready to take your car for a free ride at about a 300dollar fine to get it out of the pound lot down there in south philly. 6 00 a. M. Is the time to beat. So if you are watching us now you may be park your car last night, now is the time to get out there and get it off of that snow emergency route. Reduced speeds across all of the area bridges this morning. Thats going to be the call. As far as mass transit amtrak already kick in modified schedule today for the asela and the northeast corridor trains, same deal on the keystone line between harrisburg philly and new york. Lauren, back to you. Bob lets get right out to steve keel any new jersey. Tell us what you see in cherry hill. Reporter well, lauren, i started out in jersey, moorestown, drove into work in philly then drove back over here. My temperature on the dashboard, 3 Degrees Higher when we drove back here than when i drove n so it is not bad out at all. Just light rain, so, good driving right now. You got to just put up with the mist and maybe some fog and of course the potholes that opened up yesterday. I was thinking of buying a couple of donkeys and taking tours down into one it was so big, like they have down at the grand canyon. Watch out. Here is my tip of the day. And i beat bob kelly with a tip about traffic. Bob, you can steel this the rest of the morning. You know when they tell to you have six car lengths in front. You . Always do that. That way you have a warning about a pothole. Because the new Jersey State Police had 15 cars that cratered into one, and had their tires blow out and wheels break open. All so close together the people couldnt see what they were going to hit because they had no warning. So watching these cars in front of them, and instead of getting any look at the ground, because they are so close, almost tailgating, and they all hit the same pothole before people realized get out that far lane, close that lane down. So that gives you a sense about how bad the potholes are at least here in new jersey, and im sure pennsylvania drivers have a bunch of bad stories. Looking at route 70 here, upon sos only thing lit is up their sign all food here open, as well. Not a a lot of traffic. Here is the mist were talking about as the one car goes by usment look across the street, see the yellow flashing light . Thats a guy with a plow on the front of the truck salt in the back of the truck he was told to come in at midnight because he didnt know what time the snow would fall. Now he is just sitting there wait to go plow and salt. Ands going have a long wait. But he is getting paid by the hour, not by the inch of plowing hes doing. So lauren, route 70, a shame we dont have the camera and mike on the way over here, because i am having a 70s flashback, the hat i am wearing, i expect to have five hat, theyll all get soak. Bishop use that is, right down the street, a shame we didnt have the mike and the camera in these roving unit, would you have seen me singing take the money and run with the hand collapse then just what i needed by the cars. Lauren, my story of the day for our 3 00 viewers like huey dillon, if i could be 1 percent as nice as him im going to hen, he is one of those light night owls. I am getting gas yesterday posed for pictures with theus viewers who love tusker they want to know where mike; i said did you know eddie murphy too hot in the hot tub video had the gold speedos mike is wearing those right now down in the caribbean. So they said theyve been warning you and chris and doing six hours, and i said what do you think of chris . And she goes he is a five below mike jerrick. I go what . I said as in the store . Yes, like the cheaper version of mike jerrick. She was trying to be complimentary. And i said that was funny im kind of the local dollar of mike jerrick of mike jerrick the dollar chain. But make sure you tell chris he is a five below mike jerrick. Five below. I cant wait to tell him. Hell be here at 4 00. Ill tell him when he gets here. We need the chychrun on that at least for the first couple of hours in parenthesis, five below mike injury glike im tell tom to work on that. All right well check back in with you steve. Lets go out to Jennifer Joyce live in drexel hill with a look at the conditions there jenny, still just raining out there right now . Good morning lauren, it is, it is pretty steady rain coming down right now were live along route one here in drexel hill right across the street from chickies and petes, just taking a look at the conditions now. I know we are expecting in that five to eightinch range south of the city. So watching people drive through this area, all them, it is pretty quiet right now 3 00 in the morning. I was checking the school districts, and no announcements, as of yet. So im wonder if people are just going to wait and see what they wake up to, in a few hours, as the conditions change over. But, for the moment, it is pretty much just what weve been seeing all day yesterday too. Just this rain falling, it is feeling pretty, pretty mild out right now too. So still waiting for that really cold air to come through our area. But, for the moment, no problems here, lauren. All right jenny joyce stay dry as long as you can. Thank you so much. All right, in delaware, del dot says theyll have more than 300 plows out on the roads to clear the snow. They did not pre treat the roads as bob just mentioned because of the rain. It would just wash all of the brine away, wore ted would wash away. They say 70 different mechanics are ready and on stand by to go fix any issues that could come up with your trucks, so far this year del dot said they use bad 43 of its salt piles. Speaking of salt, many people had to run out yesterday before the storm to try to pick some up. Another supply, but they didnt have much luck a lot of Hardware Stores completely sold out. We sold out of whatever we had from yesterday. We got a delivery in, that was sold out. We got a second delivery, that was sold out. And were waiting for a third delivery. Oh, oh, maybe the third times the charm. But, since spring is right around the corn earn employees at many Stores Tell Us they are not getting any more shipments so hopefully mother nature, this is the last snowstorm. Still ahead sue will take closer look at the radar in her full forecast. Plus well show you what follows this storm and heres a live look at the airport this morning. Well tell you how the storm is affecting travel thats coming up next. It is a snow train not real a love train today. Right now three plows. You see the hashtag fox 29 snow we want to see your pictures, right now this is the platt bridge. That will will be icy later on sue because the snow is coming. I know some people are on twitter waking up seeing only rain, and theyre like what . It is coming, though, right . We just had a tweet that said you guys are telling lies. No what . Why would we do that . And i understand, youre looking out your window saying wheres the snow . Here it is. Seeing it on ultimate Doppler Radar. May just not be in your neighborhood yet. But the transition is happening from northwest to southeast. And you see that the line is just northwest of i95 right now, where it is changing over and look how much we have to go, this actually goes down to texas the line of this storm. And we expect this low pressure system to move up the front thats coming through right now and give us decent amount of accumulation, well have our estimates in just a second, but his places like allentown, Montgomery County, starting to see the transition, half of Montgomery County has snow, half has rain. And here in philadelphia, it is just light rain, at the moment. Cherry hill, where stove is, upper darby still rain, but it is coming, as you look up toward Chester County, and delaware and new jersey, not so much. So by 5 00 we see the transition line moving a little further toward the southeast. And eventually with that sleet inbetween we get more snow. Now, we see the snow continuing through about 7 00. When you see the dark he blue, those are pockets of heavier snow sometimes we could see it falling at a rate of inch or two an hour, still snowing at 9 00. Little tricky around the jersey shore southern delaware where we may hang on with some sleet for awhile. But, eventually, those colder temperatures take over, and it is still snowing in the area at noon, even lingering past noon, according to this particular computer model. Why, look, it is 3 00 in the afternoon, and it is still snowing, again not all the models in total agreement about how long it is going to last, but looks like the storm will stick around through evening. Thats why we have our watches and warnings in effect through about 7 00 when we think that will be out of here. And then tomorrow we get plenty of sunshine. We could have record low temperatures in the morning on friday if we get to about 9 degrees. Thirtyeight right now. What a difference between 38 and tomorrow at this time when we may be looking at 9 degrees. So temperatures are close to freezing, to the north and west of us, we still have a ways to go south and east to get those temperatures down. Now, in the places where it is snowing, seeing some lower visibilities, so watch out for that, if you are trying to travel around allentown maybe and reduce visibility out in lancaster county, down in wildwood weve got some fog right now less than 2 miles visibility. So heres your winter storm warning, all of the counties in pink until 7 00 p. M. You just saw the future cast which has the snow lasting almost until that time. But lighter accumulations in the mountains and the Lehigh Valley, they are under Winter Weather advisory. So still going with the five to 8 inches for most of us. North and west, three to five, and there are few places that could get more than eight, at least thats the way it is looking right now. Well continue to refine this as the morning goes along hope youll stay with us all morning. Temperatures in the 30s, falling, throughout the day with the snow continuing, and some sleet inbetween while were transition g then, yes we are probably going to get down to 9 degrees overnight. Bob kelly whatever falls today will be frozen solid tomorrow morning. Yes. Fun never ends. The next 24, 36 hours will just be crazy. Were in here, waiting for that rain to change over to the snow. But, you know, all of the rain thats out there and all of the water thats on the roadway, cleaned it up little bit. There are some big potholes all over the place. Steve was right. The rain and the water the melting snow, filling up those potholes. So were going to find them the hard way today. Here is a live look at the schuylkill expressway, disable on the westbound side, right near girard avenue. But otherwise light volume. Here is a live look, this is 95, right near the girard point double decker bridge. Shear route 100 out in Chester County again still have some piles of that slushy left over snow from earlier left over ice, i guess from a day and a half ago as some of the left or right turning lanes. But otherwise light volume so far in the 50s, on the schuylkill. I95 all of the salt and plow train crews are all casino of waiting in the wings strategically placed along all of our pennsylvania, new jersey, and delaware roadways, as if we need a sewer main break. We have one here in yardley big oak road, problem this morning. Just talked to septa. They expect to run normal thursday schedule. We all know thats not going to pan out the way they think. But right now the market frankford and the subway lines are running with the buses until 5 00, and they said around 10 00 a. M. Theyll make a decision for what they are calling an early exit plan. And i kind of read that as if it looks like it is going to be really bad theyre going to start pulling some of their buses and getting set up for later in the day. So that folks will have an idea of what the game plans going to be. Folks that do go into work, if there is early exit plan, septa making some adjustments for the afternoon theyll have that announcement coming by about 10 00 a. M. Lauren, back over to you. Bob lets check with a with one of our crews. Steve keel any jersey. Now, keeley, you said were you in jersey, came over to philly, went back. I saw you this morning in the rain, like tacking lots of stuff out of your trunk putting into the last truck. What was all of that stuff . Whats all that stuff . You got wear lots of pants and clothes. Im getting soak here. Now, were on the air until 1 00. Do you realize that . How many hours is that . Thats ten hours. Yes. All right . If i wear the same wet stuff ten hours from now ill be like an emergency room by 1 00 oclock, you know . Im already sniffing on the air here. Soap yes, it is like a liberachi concert david lee rot. Costume change every hit. But i was just on like 52nd ago, so i didnt have time to get changed. Leaf over snow bob was talking about, in the whole foods parking lot. The snow is piled higher than the trees. And i dont know where they are going to pile todays snow. I dont even know where the snow is from . I mean, how much snow did we get where they got this high of snow, and this melt in the when you try it walk on it, coy actually borough through that right now, i tried to walk on it and i sung right through. So i said all right im wet enough. By the way this snow, higher than that car over there. How about the smart cars . How smart are smart cars in weather like . Thats a kick boxing car. Somebodys going to get ko if they dare drive that in the snow. So good thing that it is park. You know what . The guys plowing this parking lot could probably burr that i smart car. Wouldnt that be fun if i they just bury that, plow the snow on top of that . Now, chris will spin around, and show you how deep the puddles are starting to form. Kind of up a hill here. Because whole foods was nice enough to light this parking lot so well, you can get a sense about all this water. You wonder will that be freeze and then be underneath the snow . So boy this is going to be a bad mess everywhere when bob calls it a hot mess, it will be an icy mess, coincidentally, to follow up my five below story lauren, look to the right. Oh, i thought i saw a dollar tree. Yes im the dollar store. Im the dollar store version. Chris is above me. Hes fight below version of mike. So what would mike be . Hes like mr. Millions. By the way lauren, i used to work night shift before i started here. And i used to come home and watch the 2 30 sports center. This was when a high carb low fayette, bowl of rice checks, bowl of corn checks, wheat checks, thinking that was healthy, but used to eat cereal at the end of my day then, and i would go to bed around now. So now i am getting up now and live and you know that sleep pillow we have, the infomercial for the sleep pillow . I just ordered two of them, one for me them you get a second one breaking news, by the way, i dont know if you caught that, wait, there is breaking news, if you order now, the National Sleep foundation has named my pillow the ultimate pillow. So chris and i will have pillows coming as soon as they deliver. We dont really get much time on our pillows on this shift. Were always awake. Thats right. So in addition to all of the laundry you saw me load in in the van ill be loading pillows in for these 3 00 a. M. Starts. Because three to one must be record breaker for this show. True. We will be here for awhile. We got to tell people whats going on. When is mr. Five below coming on . Hell be here at 4 00 hell be here an hour before 5 00. Mr. Five below on at 4 00. How about that . Again, that was compliment. Make sure he doesnt take it the wrong way our producer says he might not take. That will it was a compliment, he is the five below mike jerrick. I thought it was hysterical. I had to tell that story. Hell take it. See ya. Stay with good day and fox 29 all day for the very latest on the storm. Dont forget check the weather page of myfoxphilly. Com any time for live look at the radar, uptotheminute cl 3 25, we are live, came on hour earlier to keep you updated on the weather coming our way. Live look at old city right now. Wet and soggy outside. Snow is on the way. It is mostly rain. So how are crews in delaware preparing . Lets check in with del dots jim westoff for an update. Jim, good morning to you. Good morning, lauren. Thanks so much for joining us at this early hour. Your welcome, no problem. So, we had a storm come in sunday, dropped some snow, that turned to ice it rained, it melted it, now here comes more snow. How is that working from the roads for you guys . You cant put down the walt what the rain is washing things away. What do you do . Good point. We cant pre treat the roads with salt because the rain will wash the salt right back to the ditch. So all we have to do, we preload our trucks, and then we position them, all over the state, in spot, so as soon as it starts to turn to snow our trucks immediately can hit the road start applying salt. Now sue has shown us on the radar this storm stretches from texas to up new england. It will be big long day for us. How do your crews prepare for this long day ahead . Well, you know, part of the job, we sent them home yesterday. You know at 3 00 and told everybody to get as much rest as they can because it will be a long day. You know, but were ready i think ready for long, long stretch today. Whats your advice for drivers this morning, who are waking up, have to head out . You know, like telling everybody, if you dont have to head out please dont. Stay home if you can. But if you have to leave give yourself extra time to get to where you need to go. And give yourself extra space to slow down, and turn, and if you see a plow, you know, dont pass them, give them lots, lots of room, just stay behind them, and relax, and youll get to where you need to go safely. Jim, thanks so much. Well check back in with you. Your welcome. Jenny joyce how are things looking throughout where you are . Yep, just rain, as you heard jim west offer say it is premature for the salt trucks out here, we know conditions will be changing so well have the live updates for you all morning long. Well be rig the never ending winter. Thats what this is. New blast of snow and ice hitting our area right now. Take live look outside. More than half a foot of snow expect in the some areas. Well have live reports all morning long on conditions, where you live. Plus it is a site we are so used to seeing. White and green and pink all over the radar. Sues going to time out this storm, and tell us how long this will last. And treacherous travel. Whether you are flying, or youre driving, your trip, anywhere this morning, will be off to a slow slick start. Bob kellys keeping an eye on the highways and the skies for us. Good day everybody, it is wednesday, march 5th, 2015. We have your School Closings and delays, scrolling at the bottom of your screen. Dont forget send yours us your pictures, use facebook, instagram, twitter. Use the hashtag fox29snow. Sue, someone just asked the question, do you want to see rain . Thats all we have right now. No no, no, wait until the snow comes because it is coming, flight. Right. We want to know when it transitions, and thats why we appreciate your input so much. Because, the transition is happening. Want to show you how big this storm is. This is a cold front that he stretches all the way down to texas. And then we expect several waves of low pressure to mover along this front. And give us all of the accumulation that we are predicting. So it looks like, as we zoom in little bit closer, the transition is happening, where you see the green changing over to white. And there is a little bit of pink inbetween as lauren mentioned, thats sleet. So brief period of sleet before we see the rain changeover to snow. And thats happening in Chester County, right now so around west goshen, probably starting to see the snow. We a report of some wet heavy snow, in pottstown already. Still rain in delaware county, marple and here in philadelphia, as well. But, around horsham abington, probably seeing the transition happening, as well, as in norristown, a little further north, allentown already had little bit of accumulation reported up in the pocono mountains, but little dray slot in southern delaware, there is more precipitation on the way trust me. Winter storm warning will be in effect until about 7 00 tonight. And all the counties you see highlight in the pink. Winter weather advisory to the north of us, as this system moves a little further south. We expect the higher accumulations to be in the metro area than they will be in the mountains. Bye we have gone below freezing in mount pocono, 29, still at 38 in philadelphia, but 33 in pottstown, where we had the report of wet snow. Thirtythree in reading lancaster, as well. And we do expect this to be a real heavy snow, which makes it difficult to shovel. So, as we transition, throughout the day try to stay on top of it if you can and get a clean up, because we could get five to 8 inches of snow, and few places, especially, just to the south of i95. May get more, depends on where that heavier snow band sets up. And well watch that with you throughout the morning. And throughout the day as well. So now we have the rain, and the process of changing over to snow, from northwest to southeast t mixing with sleet. The bulk of the accumulation, bob kelly will have through noon. We expect the snow to last even after that. Yikes. Are you ready . Ring the bell. Ding, ding, ding, ding. Here we go. We got it for you. Snow cam. Okay there we go. Not kidding folks, it is on the way, it is he can actually what sue just mentioned, that heavy snow. See how it is going from on your screen there from right to left . It is coming down pretty quickly. We just had rain, and in the last five, ten minutes, bamm it quickly changed over. This is county line road, up near the montgomery mill mall. So just to give up an idea, you see how it is blowing sideways. So the wind is actually going to play a factor in it this morning. So again the Road Conditions are going to change quickly as we roll through our morning here here is a live look, though, on the jersey side, just wet on that 42 freeway and you heard jim westoff from del dot mention it, i mentioned it earlier not able to pretreat the roadways. So, it is a whole different game plan here this morning. The roads are wet to begin with. We have puddles from all of that melting ice and snow on the overnight. And as stove keeley mentioned, the water from that melting snow kind of filling up the potholes. Big key here in philadelphia the snow emergency kicks in at 6 00 a. M. That means, no parking on the snow emergency routes. They will tow your vehicle. It will be a couple of hundred bucks to get it out of the impact lot down there in south philadelphia by the stadium. So make sure to remove your car, not just here in center city the snow emergency routes are throughout the city. Frankford avenue, torresdale avenue, im going to put a link up in a couple every minute here to give you guys, so you can see the map the double check whether your street out front is a snow emergency route. Already, speed restrictions on all of the area bridges this morning. It will be a rough day ahead at Philadelphia International airport. Airlines had already started cancelling flight into in and out every philly yesterday. So check with your airline. As sue mentioned, this is a huge storm from texas, all the way up into our area. So it is just not philly thats going to be impacted. Airports across the country will feel the effect today. You may want to stay put and try to reschedule, but check with the airline before you head down there. Septa still running shuttle buses, until 5 00 on the market frankford and the subway, and again we expect to see some delays, everything will run little slower, today all around the board. Lauren, back over to you. Bob, as you said, conditions expected to deteriorate, as the day goes on fox 29s Jennifer Joyce in drexel hill, and jenny it, just feels like every other day, we see you, it is wet, it is raining, it is snowing, we cant get away from it. I know, lauren, i need a vacation. I know, and you deserve one. Oh, thank you thank up, yes. Standing out here in the rain, i heard bob kelly say that there was a sign of snow, not here yet not in delaware county, just look, it is a current 37 degrees, and that looks like it is going to be the high for the day only getting colder from here. By 5 00 it is supposed to dip below freezing, so, thats when we are expecting the conditions to change. So, right now just some puddles on the roadway, little bit of ponding offer to the side. But really no issues. Andy see Upper Darby School district middle schools already had an early dismissal, that was prescheduled. So were still wait to go see a determination for schools. You know, obviously people looking out their window, they see rain there is isnt enough to Cancel School for the day even though we are hearing it is supposed to get worse. So we expect the next few hours to really see that determination, as far as area school district, i also did notice that haverford township has two issues, snow emergency, so if youre in that area, be careful in terms of the parking restrictions there. So right now just still rain falling here in delaware county, we are live along route one, lauren, we send it back to you. All right, the calm before the storm. Jenny, thanks so much. And still ahead we want to see your snow pictures this morning, tweet us, use the hashtag fox29snow. Look at that one as bob always says, bread milk and eggs flying off the shelves. Tracey thanks for that picture. Well so you look out the window, so in south jersey here, delaware, like hey where is the snow . It is coming. Can you see on radar here . The transition is happening northwest to southeast. Just hasnt happened here in philadelphia just yet. We are getting report of snow, in many other places to the north and west every us. Look at this storm how the reach of it is. This cold front extends all the way down it texas and were going see some impulses, shall we say of Energy Moving along the cold front. You can see up in allentown the transition already happened to snow, and that heavy wet snow, we keep talking about. It is coming. It looks like the transition line is now entered northeast philadelphia. And if youre in delco like jenny joyce is you will probably be seeing the rain change over to snow, pretty soon heres cherry hill, thats where steve keeley is, right now so, steve, it is rain right now. But i know you believe me. That it is going to change over to snow. You know, sue you cannot win. There are so many road hazards, i have another thing bob kelly didnt mention tonight find something bob kelly doesnt mention thats like wing jeopardy year end contest. Did i it twice in one day not even 4 00 yet. Here is another thing bob. You have got the rain coming down. You have got the combination of ice and melting snow. And so youre going to have hydroplane danger before you start sliding on the stuff that sue says is comingment look at this parking lot here. This mountain of dirty snow is taking 25 feet, 25 parking lots spots already. Where are they going to put the new snow . Were at whole foods market, or when the light are out who north philadelphia, an s. U. V. , look at this video crashes right into a bank overnight. Told suv ran a red light hit another car, caused it to crash right through the front windows and doors. You see the video rain could have been factor in. This we know it will keep raining, eventually turns to snow. Steve keeley youre fully aware every these situations, happened when people are driving out here and just underestimate whats happening on the roads, when it comes to the weather. Well, i think people think oh, there is no snow. I can drive like a lunatic because youre not going to believe there is lauren. You know that police where it had the fire, when you get off the betsy ross bridge, the big tanker fire last week . Yes. Im take that home yesterday. A guy flies by me, he doesnt want to go behind the slow me going 25 miles an hour like im supposed to. Right. He flies by me, gets into the cattle shoot doing like 50. And i was like oh, does this guy not get it . People dont drive smart. I glow and i just said the hydroplaning danger. There are deep puddles, hype domain, when you hit one of those, no warning all of the left and right lanes have massive deep puddles in them. You have no idea how deep. That will makes your car almost airborne. And im not saying that was the cause especially people in suvs if they got four wheel drive they think, you know, i have a moon lunar nodule, you know, the things the astronaunts used to ride around on the moon, super safe. I saw a salt truck turn over in galloway township, ticketed the driver from atco loaded with rock salt, heavy truck still slid on the ice and flipped over, close to the shore. So, every vehicle is in danger driving today. Before the snow comes. Now, look. Here is some deep snow, lauren. I dont know if you can get the perception. Ill try to stay next to it, quote one of my favorite movies of all time, airplane. Did you ever see the original airplane move snip. , no do you have wait until chris gets here in 14 minutes. All right. You got to see. That will anyway, there is a scene in there where these guys are sitting there and they talk jive. And the guy says my mama didnt raise no dummy. So im going to climb this mountain, since i made a fool of myself with the plow last march, ill climb the back, so when i fall it wont be on live tv. But my idea is to go over this mountain of snow to gave you a sense of how high it is, and you got to wonder where the plow drivers going to put the new snow, because they cant get these things higher than two stories, i dont know if that would be safe. I know. You know what, steve keeley, i notice in the south philly the other day what are they going to do with all of these piles of snow just building up . Did you get a sense how high this is . This is the most stupid thing in the world. But when i fall you wont see me. Here you go here i go. I am like the monkeys, remember davey joes and the monkeys on the sand dunes . Does this gave you a idea how high this mountain is . And this snow has melt add lot. Thats why we have all of this water around here. This is discusting dirty black snow. It is that is. I so probably just took two years off my life. Look somebody was up here drinking wait a second. Cigarette butts and beer cans up here. What . This is where ill fall. Somebody was up here drinking , no you know what . Mandela. When they piled it together stuff just comes at the top of there. Who knows what else will come up out of there careful. Wait, guy cleaning the trash out of the parking lot picking up the trash before the snow covers it. So, all right. I made t i didnt fall. And anyway, thats a great quote from a movie, you will love that scene my favorite scene in the move so i list toned my mom, i didnt make a fool of myself on live tv. All right, just got the big wrap. I think i just stole eight a minutes of this hour already. Steve keeley, well talk to you in just a second, dont you worry. Sue serio, snow is on the way not here yet. People be patient, it is the calm before the storm. To briefly continue, because i saw airplane many times back in the day mother from leave it to beaver, barbara comes up, excuse me, steward else, i speak jive. We do have ultimate Doppler Radar showing the transition, starting to happen in northwest philadelphia. Heavy wet snow. Sunshine about to ends, and the one down in south jersey ends pretty soon. So lets check temperatures going into the future, by 6 00 were well below freezing, north and west. So when the temperature does drop, it drops pretty fast. And by 6 00 we should be just above freezing, at freezing by 8 00. Weve transitioned over to snow by 8 00 in the morning and starting to see accumulations, by 10 00 oclock, look at this, 29 degrees, so between now and 10 00 well drop about 10 degrees, and you see that happening to the south of us throughout the rest of the day. And we stay in the 20s, through most of the day. And it is to isnt until maybe 6 00, 7 00 according to this computer model that it is out of here. Then temperatures plunge into the teens tonight. And we could get down to about 9 00, 10 00; 1 degrees, by tomorrow morning. Now, to show this one computer model still maybe 6. 8 inches of snow in philadelphia put us 5208 inches were calling for maybe more to the south. Right now it is 38 degrees. It is 32 in pottstown, 29 in mount pocono. You can see the cold air moving in from northwest to southeast, close to 40, in atlantic city. Watch out for fog in the places specially where it is snowing. 1. 7 miles visibility, in pottstown, as the snow moves further south the visibility will be reduced our winter storm warning continues until 7 00 for all of the areas you see in pink, except for the mountains in the Lehigh Valley where we expect lighter accumulations. We could get more than 8 inches every snow, so temperatures will fall through the 30s now. Then through the 20s, through the rest of the day with snow, and a little bit of sleet inbetween. And i think we might get down to 9 degrees, bob kelly overnight. So lots of refreezing tomorrow. Yes definitely, it will be a rough 2436 hours or so. Heres a live look at route 202 near the limekiln pike. Start to see the snow again. This is just all about half mile from the camera i used the last time, the difference we had that heavy wet snow up off of the montgomery mill mall. And it looks like here, more after fluffy snow. But it is coming. Of course it is change dramatically the Road Conditions quickly. Heres the tweet from one of our viewers, it is snowing hard in collegeville. Thank god. Because the kids would be crushed if they had school today. I told the kids last night the most likely they would have the day off. I do want to add in there that weve not heard from all of the schools. We have them scrolling at the bottom of the screen there. Havent heard from the philly public and parochial schools yet either. So i think there is no need to pack that lunch. I think well have snow day for a lot of kids today. No problems, though, coming in 422, speeds will be reduced quickly, on all of the major roadways and an accident already westbound on the schuylkill expressway. Right near girard avenue. Again watch it. All of that melting snow from yesterday and the overnight causing major puddles and ponding. The clogged drains, well find out the hard way here, and amtrak says theyve modified scheduled in place for today on the asela the northeast corridor trains, and the keystone trains. Mower to come. Stay there i just heard that bob brought in pound cake, not the usual snow, bread eggs. The snow has block so many street, the mayor has been thinking about postponing the st. Patricks parade. Organizers rejected the idea the last time the parade was canceled during the blizzard of 1978. The parade will go on, as scheduled it will take place on march 15th. Okay, still ahead we are keeping an eye on this storm. It is a big one, stretches all the way out to texas. But it is coming right through our area. This is live look at radar. Sue says the change over from rain to snow happening right now. More on what to expect. Coming up after the break. Is chris live from philadelphia. This is fox 29 morning news. Well, another messy morning, just rain in the city right now at least in old sit way live report there at fourth and market. But the change over is going to happen. Now, the city to the suburbs live reports all morning long, evidently steve keeley is already on a roll. Oh, ya. Just wait until you hear what he had to say. Live look at ultimate Doppler Radar, some parts of the area, could see half foot of snow today. What you can expect in your neck of the woods. And the storm hitting us during the morning commute.
