it is cute. are you looking for love in the wrong places? do you even know that you are. women get trapped in repeating the same relationship mistakes over and over, but this is good news, and you can break the patterns and find the love and fulfillment that you deserve. this time around, she also -- she's always had tips for the men, too. we'll get into that later. she is back with us this morning. good to see you. >> good to be back. >> i said that, because we were talking offcamera, some people don't know they're looking in wrong places be like at six years old we made a list of what we want in our husband or boyfriend or what have you. that list changes, doesn't it? >> we're out here shopping for men like they are an appliance on a shelf at best buy. >> right. >> one of the things we do as women is say, question, get rid of the features and look at qualities. >> absolutely. >> hold the list up against yourself to see are you there yet, since you want to attract that. >> i love it. last year love academy was sold out. this year there are a couple of spaces left. people out there who are interested, i want to know what makes your all-day seminars so compelling. >> why. let me first by saying what it is, teaching and principles of the course based upon did you buy the love lies. it's the dysfunctional belief that we as females have been operating from starting about the age of 3, believe it or not, we actually look back at that time line in the course, but one of the things that sets it apart, so often when we hear of relationship courses, we think, i'm single and looking and i need to be there. i'm married and don't need to be there. regardless of your status, single, married, divorced, widowed, dating, engaged, it doesn't matter. you have to get detoxed from the love lies. >> i love it. that's when the hard work begins. detoxing yourself. >> that's right. we have to do refining and cleaning out and truth telling. but it's really good work that prepares us to attract and sustain healthy love. >> i will mention, too, bassinets to because i want to get it out there it's benefiting local charities who help women who have found themselves in abusive relationships. thank you very much. because that money stays here locally. >> and we're bringing items, too, to donate to the shelters. >> beautiful. we tease that men also need to do work, too. let me get it out before tony says, what about the men? he'll do that. what kind of -- let me ask you this way, what kind of man should we be looking for? i know each case is different. but what should we be looking for? what kind of work does that man need to do to be ready to be in a healthy relationship himself? >> well, the interesting thing is that there are two separate sets of love lies that i have discovered. there are 25 specific to women, and 25 specific to men. and they are not the same and they're actually divergent. we have a session for men called mentality. and we look at what are the male love lies? starting about the same age there's a set of dysfunctional fallacies that the males absorb that when they come into a relationship they're operating from, and behaving from that. we know the results of the love lies coming together, disappointment, frustration, irritation, divorce. so it's time for a new paradigm. >> speaking of that, with this economic downturn, we find more men are underemployed or not employed and women are taking on the role of bread winner. if you have a woman considered a professional, and then you have a man she might be interested in or married to, that that changed. do you need reconditioning with that to go along with the times? >> i have never thought -- i have never claimed that is that big of an issue. when you come into a partnership, that's what it is. so there isn't my money and his money. it's our dollars that we are making decisions about. if in a certain time the man is generating less financial income, there are other ways inside that relationship they can keep things balanced so it doesn't become a sticking point or point of conflict. i've never been one that if the woman is making more there are going to be conflicts. >> doesn't have to be? >> not at all. you're in partnership. you adjust and you keep flowing. often it's only a temporary situation anyway. >> you are a national best selling author, speaker, love coach. the reason you're in d.c. today, you have a couple of appearances tonight. i want to say there's a discussion, book signing on georgia avenue, the information is on your screen of course. and then the love academy, which is tomorrow. pretty much all day. 8:30to 3:30 p.m. all the information is on our web site, myfoxdc.com. all the joy you can stand, and this is my favorite, sacred pampering principles, this was my bible before i knew i would meet you one day. lovely to see you again. >> thank you. >> tony, over to you. >> thank you very much. it might be breakfast time, but this morning sauerkraut takes center stage. that's right. it's part of a campaign to help make it a culinary favorite and highlight its health benefits. sarah simmons joins us live from northwest with spike mendleson. what's this all about? >> reporter: this is huge. i heard the disappointment in your voice that we're talking about sauerkraut. i'm going to turn that tone around. it's pretty good stuff. i think you're going to like what we have here today. with me, top chef alum, spike mendleson. >> thank you. >> reporter: he's here to talk about kraut rocks. that is a culinary college i guess in that local chefs have gotten together and trying to take sauerkraut off the back burner. >> got to be a front-runner. it's why we launched this campaign, kraut rocks. kraut has been around for years and has gotten a bad rap, because the idea of fermentation. what we're here to do is take the fear out of fermenting. people drink beer every day and eat pizza, they're fermented. >> reporter: i think they're worried about the breath. you can get a breath mint. making a pizza with sauerkraut. >> the idea was to get local chefs to be creative and show how kraut can be diverse. each came up with a bunch of great recipes at their restaurants, featuring for the month of september. we're encouraging everybody to visit the restaurants and taste the food and rock the vote. >> reporter: yeah. yours, this is we the pizza? >> it's something i've been working on. when i think about kraut, i remember when i was in france training and i used to have sausage and kraut and potatoes. >> reporter: what we've got on the pizza today? >> exactly. mozzarella cheese here. little bit of potato, and the rock star here -- >> reporter: just slather it on, chef. i like a lot of it. i eat it out of the jar, because i think it's that good. how do you change people out there, though, that think i don't like sauerkraut, do you think this could help introduce it to people? >> absolutely. i think this can help. people look at sauerkraut putting it on a hot dog. you can use it in so many different ways. the great thing, it's a super food. super healthy. >> reporter: cabbage. >> right. and pickled cabbage. makes it better. get out there, be risky. this day and age i feel like we're a society of a lot of food bloggers and foodies, and into food. why not turn them on to kraut? mustard dabbles here. look good to you? >> reporter: looks amazing. tell me a little bit about who are some of the chefs that you've kind of, i guess, recruited in this kraut challenge and the other places working with you. >> home grown chef, teddy, and eric over there. and here at red line. bunch of chefs. you can go on the web site, check out where the restaurants are, recipes they'll be featuring. get to the restaurants, eat this delicious dish they've come up with. i've tasted them all. then rock the vote and rock the kraut. >> reporter: what is, really, i guess, you said we need to center around sauerkraut itself, did someone come up with it out of the blue? why this? >> wanted to do something the first time in their history, get the word out about sauerkraut. it's one of the greatest challenges as a chef, because it is so challenging to turn people onto it. >> reporter: this may not be sanitary -- >> you have to taste in between here. >> reporter: yummy. great. spike, thank you so much. coming up, we're going to meet some of the other chefs involved in this challenge, see what dishes they have to offer us. and we'll taste this pizza as well. see,, sauerkraut isn't all that bad. back to you. >> i have to say, that looks good. >> i don't have it in my refrigerator, a big tub like you do all the time. but it's still good. sorry to put you out there like that. the impact on a voter i.d. law could have in virginia. with the race this tight, could turning people away help or hurt mitt romney or the president? "washington post" columnist bob mccartney joins us with a closer look. >> protestors hit the streets as anti-american violence rages in parts of the middle east world. it's 8:55. 66degrees on a friday morning. we roll on on fox 5 morning news. right now, protestors, riot police and protestors clashing in cairo, as protests continue over an anti-muslim film. egypt's president calls for calm. our sherri ly is live with the latest. >> voter i.d. controversy. a new law in virginia limits acceptable forms of identification and while it may help voter fraud, there are concerns it may suppress votes. the "washington post" bob mccartney is here to explain. >> don't listen, tony, but it is possible to have too much football? some men may say no. for some, it may get in the way of items on a to do
