Emerald, a lot of people dont realize the financial students face. But one student who saw his classmates struggling opened up an oncampus food bank to make sure no one goes hungry. Yeah, we all see college as this avenue towards a successful career and higher wages. So sometimes its hard to see College Students as seriously struggling as disadvantaged. But Justin Franks at alabama a m university was hearing stories about his classmates skipping meals and going to bed hungry. That really bothered him, so with just 40 out of his dorm building. So far, the response has been overwhelming. His story has been shared hundreds of times on facebook, and the donations just keep coming in. This problem is much bigger than you might imagine. According to a recent report that surveyed thousands of College Students across theio nearly 48 percent of students reported suffering from some form of food insecurity.
