Breaking news to tell you about overnight. 11 people, including 7 police officers, were killed bombing in istanbul today. At least 36 people were wounded. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Going to turn to a growing controversy surrounding the sentencing of a former Stanford University student convicted in an oncampus sexual assault. This morning, the judge and the students father are under fire after the promising athlete received just six months in jail. Nbcs Gadi Schwartz has the story. Reporter brock turning never steps foot on stanford grounds again. But many saying the sixmonth punishment sends the wrong message. Brock turner could have been looking at 14 years for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman behind a dumpster on stanfords campus. Caught in the act by two swedish students who it was horrible. Reporter but instead of 14 years, the judge has ruled that turner will spend six months in jail, eligible for parole in three months, citing his age and lack of record at sentencing. But the lenient sentence has enraged thousands. Online, a petition circulating with more than 200,000 signatures calling for the judge to be removed from the bench. Do you have to be exposed to loud noises over a long period of can be associated with how loud the sound is and the duration of exposure. But a loud sound can also cause that. Lets talk about your advice. Ear buds, good thing to be careful with. Really careful. When youre putting anything in the ear canal, its not the best thing in the world. The ear bud can increase the amount of decibels, seven to nine. You want to use an earphone that has the noise canceling capability. Theres an industry on that. You can do your Due Diligence to find out which ones are the best. Some of the devices listening to a phone or an ipad, can pack a wallop, like putting a chain saw next to your head. Anything above 85 decibels is dangerous. A motorcycle, is at 95 decibels. The loudest your player goes is 105. The rule is, something you want to listen to your mp3 player at 60 at its loudest and for 60 minutes. If you have your mp3 player on as loud as it can go, over an hour, hour and 15 minutes, youre going to be sustaining damage thats irreversible. How many times do you walk down the street, past someone wearing ear buds and you can hear their music . Thats too loud. Its too loud if youre standing two meters away and you have to shout to be heard. Its too loud if you hear buzzing or muffling after exposure. This is we talked about this, too. This for everybody.
