The lawyers say their clients have suffered long, Ongoing Health complications because of that smoke. Since the incident, metro has seen a leadership change. The federal government has taken over safety oversight. This week the federal Transit Administration announced daily unannounced safety inspections. The new general manager welcomes the scrutiny. Every two weeks get new employees in. Wiedefeld called the safety inspections at metro the new norm. We also learned that metro will hold on to the man who led the agency during a long search for a new general manager.
