breaking news. a professional basketball player and native washingtonian has been arrested and is facing serious charges. >> prince george's county police arrested delonte west last night on 95. he pulled west over for speeding and making an unsafe lane change. he said he had a gun in his waist band. >> it was one of three guns he had. he currently plays for the cleveland cavs. much more coming up later on news4. >> now to a developing story in silver spring. we learned a woman missing more than two weeks has been found murdered in her own backyard. montgomery county police tell us the body of 35-year-old rosa lydia vasquez was found in a shed in the back of her house last night. >> thismorning, officers arrested a 17-year-old and charged him as an adult with vasquez's murder. police are speaking with the media right now at the headquarters. we hope to learn more about the pair's relationship, as well as if police searched the backyard prior to last night. the latest on news4 at 5:00 tonight. now, the latest on the kidnapping case of jaycee dugard. authorities in california are trying to figure out whether her accused captors, phillip and nancy garrido were involved in the disappearance of two other school girls. >> cadaver dogs sniffed out some remains behind their home today where they allegedly kept jaycee dugard for 18 years. >> reporter: the search continues in antioch, california, on the property of phillip and nancy garrido in connection with the the disappearance of two young girls two decades ago. police dogs recovered a bone and picked up a scent of what could be buried human remains. >> we are not going to say where it was because we don't want everybody to try to get to that spot. but it was on the garrido property. >> reporter: analysis is on its way to see if the bone is human. the area is known to be a native american site. these photos taken last month bere the house was condemned show filthy conditions with piles of furniture, scattered dirty dishes and debris. the home had been searched after the garridos were arrested last month and charged in connection with the kidnapping and raped of 11-year-old jaycee dugard who was abducted 18 years ago. police say dugard lived in tents in the backyard with her two daughters who were fathered by her captor. the garridos pled not guilty. >> we still have other things to pursue before we can walk away from him as a potential suspect. >> reporter: the search will be halted over the weekend and continue monday. text messages and messy mice cages. we are learning more this evening. new details about the man accused of murdering yale grad student annie le. and why police believe they have an iron-clad case now. police arrested raymond clark at a motel here in connecticut yesterday. authorities moved in after they compared his dna to dna in the ceiling and the crawl space at the crime scene. and there are reports this afternoon police tracked his movements on the day of the murder using his yale i.d. card. that card shows clark was in the same room as le when she disappeared. police reportedly also looking at text exchanges between the two. he reportedly had messaged her over the cleanliness of mice cages. he was a lab tech who worked with le. authorities continue their search for the man who carjacked a woman in a parking lot last night and then led police on a high-speed chase through two states. it started last night in gainesville, virginia. police say the man carjacked a woman at gun point, got into her car and then started driving toward maryland. police caught up with him and chased him into prince george's county. that's where he crashed and was able to run-off. the woman inside the car was not injured. news4's tracee wilkins will have more on this story in a live report at 5:00. a home for seniors goes from beauty. >> and turning parking spaces into park spaces. >> here is a look at four other stories making headlines in our area today. a man convicted of killing an armored car driver more than five years ago has been sentenced to life plus 20 years in prison. earl davis was arrested in 2004 for shooting and killing dunbar courier jason swindler in a hold-up in hyattsville. the case was moved to federal court so prosecutors could seek the death penalty against davis. the trial determined that davis was developmentally disable and excuse was taken off the table. his father says he's glad his son's killer will be off the streets. in the wake of recent suicides on metro track, officials are considering ways to prevent it from happening again. the latest yesterday afternoon, a 15-year-old by died after he was hit at the columbia heights station. the boy intentionally stepped in front of the train. metro says the teen was acting strangely before he stepped into the train's path, but no one intervened. now officials say they will k consider training employees to be on better watch and to learn the signs of trouble. a once-blighted property in southeast d.c. now looks as good as new. the overlook at oxen run, a 12-story apartment building for families and seniors opened up today. local dignitaries attended the event. the building was completely gutted and renovated with many upgrades, including security. the building closed back in 2005 because it was crime-ridden. they tried to close off some parking spaces and make them parks for a day, but d.c. said no to their permit request. still, organizers of an annual park keen day spread a little green on one corner. the plan was to turn four on-street parking spaces into parks at locations all over the city, but with no permit, they put down their sod in the parking lot of garden district shop here at 14th and s street northwest. they also put up a badmitten net, played music and created a park-like atmosphere. the concept began in san francisco and new york city. the cdc says the first shipments of the swine flu vaccine will ship in the next two or three weeks. today's announcements come as trials on some groups, including pregnant woman, are still under way. the vaccine has been approved and will soon be at a clinic or doctor's office near you. tracie potts is on capitol hill with the latest. >> reporter: the cdc says nearly 3.5 million doses of the h1n1 vaccine will be ready the first week of october. it will be the nasal spray. because the spray contain as live virus, pregnant women can't get it even though they are high risk. >> hopefully i'll be able to get it before i deliver the baby. >> reporter: they started testing pregnant women with the injectable vaccine. >> pregnant women may respond differently by side effects or how much immune response they have. >> reporter: despite recommendations to put children, young adults and health care workers first, the cdc says it's up to each state. >> and there is a balance there, recognizing there is demand, there is ability to minister it and we have disease. >> reporter: the world health organization warns production is falling short. u.s. officials admit getting the vaccine out to be slow at first. >> there is no magic to this. this is a huge logistical process. there is no sudden appearance of the vaccine. >> reporter: the viruses spreading twice as fast as the regular flu. h1n1 has been reported in all 50 states with widespread activity in 21. fear is spreading, too birmingham, alabama's mayor closed and cleaned city hall after one worker was diagnosed. >> i've got city workers to be concerned about. >> reporter: the health department said it wasn't necessary, but the mayor called it good judgment. it looks like the virus is widespread, but mild or moderate. in fact, the cdc says the number of people hospitalized so far is actually less than in a normal flu season. from capitol hill, tracie potts, news4, washington. well the sunshine finally broke through today, but will it shine through the searched the home of phillip and nancy garrido. cadaver dogs may have detected something behind the house. investigators are trying to determine if the garridos were involved in two orchid nappings. the search will be halted over the weekend and will resume on monday. the first doses of the swine flu vaccine are expected to ship in the next two to three weeks. according to the centers for disease control, 3.4 million doses of the nasal spray version of the h1n1 vaccine will be available the first week of october. by the end of the year, health officials expect 195 million doses to be available, most of them shots. professional basketball player and native washingtonian delonte west was arrested last night on interstate 95. a prince george's county police officer pulled west over on his motorcycle for speeding. when he stopped west, west told the officer he had a gun in his waist band. police say that was one of three guns west was carrying. west currently playing for the cleveland cavaliers. in the health care debate today, first lady michelle obama took center stage in the democrats' push for reform and called the issue a women's issue. conservatives met on the health care issue today and steve handelsman has the latest on that. >> reporr: first lady michelle obama urged women's groups in washington to mobilize like never before to fight for health care reform. >> it is very much a women's issue. >> reporter: she said women work more part-time and low-wage jobs so their medical coverage tends to be worse than men's. >> we have to reform the system. the status quo is unacceptable. it is holding women and families back, and we know it. >> reporter: across town conservatives said they, too, want reform. >> it lowers the cost of health insurance for working families, but the american people don't want a government-run insurance plan paid for with billions of dollars of taxes. >> reporter: the conservative mike huckabee said before there's health care reform, americans ought to get more exercise. >> simply covering more people only exacerbates the problem so more people will be encouraged to live unhealthy lifestyles. >> reporter: many call barack obama a socialist. moderate republican senator o olympia snowe does not. >> i sense the opposite. he's been very realistic in his views on health care. >> reporter: democrats hope snowe will vote with them. she might, if is there a change in the fines proposed to people who refuse to get health insurance. >> if you are going to pay a penalty, i would like to pay it towards coverage as opposed to a simple, as a penalty. >> reporter: many democrats want changes in their own party's health care proposal. despite the fine is proposed taxes on high-cost medical plans. democrats say they cholesterol and blood pressure lived about ten years less than the men without any of those risk factors. heavy drinking is bad for your health according to research done on fighting infections. the study done in mice shows that binge drinking can weaken your body's defense against illness. it prevents the bod from producing proteins that prompt the immune system that responds to the infection
