Action News Reporter erin ohearn is live at the big board with more. Yeah matt, scary moments for everyone inside that store. This map really illustrates where this happened. It all occurred around 3 30 yesterday afternoon. Eight employees and five customers were inside this lululemon store at 1527 walnut street and the then the neighboring building which you see right here, the people inside heard bricks coming crashing down on the popular athletic store and it caused the roof to collapse. We want to show you some pictures from the aftermath because theyre pretty frightening. If you can see that. Significant damage there while people were actually inside. Now, the fright ling collapse trapped three women who were shopping. Two had injuries but did manage to free themselves. However, another was stuck under the debris. Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and transported the victims to hahnemann. We know at least one of those women was released. But the other two women remain hospitalized. L and i says the tumbling bricks which caused a 20foot wide hole in lululemons roof were from a penthouse elevator shaft for 1529 walnut street where an attorney is the only tenant and he says hes never had any problems with the building. But thats any other much consolation to the people inside the athletic store during that roof collapse. Lighting just and the whole ceiling and the roof the whatever the side wall, i dont know what it was everything just came crashing down. It just doesnt happen that a building falls on top another building if its properly maintained. Reporter now, sources say employees from lululemon were interviewed by central detectives and told them theres been a leak in the roof for weeks but l and i added the owner of that building is cooperating with the investigation.
