A little bit of snow mixing with some sleet down right on the tip of the peninsula and theres also a couple of light snow showers popping up past smyrna delaware and in the vicinity of dover. Theres a low Pressure Center to our south that we talked about yesterday that could put down just a little bit of light precipitation this morning. Its now looking like in some cases we might go as much as a half inch to an inch of snow that would be mainly this morning into early this afternoon. Doesnt look like a whole lot right now. The wider view shows you this is a fairly substantial system. Most of the precipitation will stay to the south. During the Morning Hours into the early afternoon some of us could see some of that snow and i think the biggest impact is going to be to the south. Thats where a Winter Weather advisory is posted until 1 oclock, Cape May County and kent and Sussex County delawares and parts into southern maryland. Sleet freezing rain and perhaps a little snow this morning. 21 degrees in philadelphia under mainly cloudy skies right now. As expected its a very cold start across the region. Just 14 in allentown, 22 in wilmington, 28 in wildwood. Cold enough down there in wildwood and down towards southern delaware for that snow to possibly stick on roads this morning so be careful if you start to see it. 12 degrees is your current wind chill in the city. Nine up in the poconos. A 2degree wind chill in allentown so the winds still a bit of a factor and you have to bundle up. 21 right now on your Storm Tracker 6 app. Probably holding 21 by 8 oclock with that snow and sleet down to the south in Cape May County and down into parts of southern delaware. Thanks karen. Lets get to that breaking news. A house fire claims the life of a woman in delaware county. Action News ReporterKatherine Scott joins us live from the scene in yeadon with more. Katherine. Reporter matt, thats right, one woman lost her life. We dont know her age or her identity and firefighters say the fire was mainly contained that front porch area that you can see right now. Thats where investigators believe the fire began. The fire marshal though, and the medical examiner are on the scene right now. This fire broke out just before 3 00 a. M. On the unit block of East Providence road in yeadon. When fire crews arrived they were met with heavy smoke at the front door. One woman was found dead in the porch area. The fire did extend up to the second floor. Mainly smoke and water damage inside the home. The victim was the only resident on that side of the twin home. Were looking for other victims. They found her on the front porch and nobody else was inside the building itself. Reporter and the residents on the other side of this twin home were able to get out safely and theyve since been able to return. The deputy chief says no smoke alarms were heard when they responded. Homicide detectives say they are making progress on the investigation into an executionstyle murder. Sources told action news last night the shooting was very personal. Police say they are going through Surveillance Footage to see if they captured images of the man seen fleeing from the scene. A Grocery Store owner is recovering this morning after he got into a gun battle with a would be robber. Police say the shootout happened last night inside the stevens Grocery Store on the 2900 block of d street in philadelphias kensington neighborhood. Owner Rafael Martinez was hit in the right shoulder. He is in Good Condition at Temple University hospital. Two suspects are on the loose. A barbershop employee in the citys germantown section is recovering from a shooting. The 20yearold employee was shot in his leg last night inside the International Barber federation. Thats on the 1500 block of germantown avenue. The victim was rushed to einstein hospital in a private vehicle is that in stable condition. No arrests have been made. We have new details on a crash involving a pedestrian in Montgomery County. A driver struck an elderly man last night as he tried to cross ogontz avenue near the septa bus loop in cheltenham townships wyncote section. Emss rushed 87yearold warren scott to the hospital. Hes in critical condition. The driver remained at the scene. Any witnesses are asked to contact cheltenham township police. Nascar driver kurt busch has told a delaware courtroom he believes his exgirlfriend is a trained assassin. At a hearing in dover yesterday busch said patter Tricia Driscoll told him she was a mercenary who killed people for a living. Driscoll is trying to get a no contact order against busch. She claims he assaulted her inside his motor home at Dover International speed way last september. Driscoll did not dispute the assassin claims in court but told the reporter the assertions are ludicrous saying busch took it from a movie script shes been working on. Shes now facing four charges for corruption of minors. The teenaged Victim Told Police the relationship began last january when he was just 16.
