Now to a developing story in center city philadelphia. Police are investigating the bloody assault of a woman on the concourse of septas Jefferson Station this afternoon. Tonight were told the victim remains hospitalized after enduring a terrible beating at the hands of a man that investigators say they believe the victim knew. It was right around 1 30 this afternoon when investigators say a woman was seen bruised and bloodied walking up from the train platform to the concourse inside septas Jefferson Station. Transit officers quickly came to help the victim described only as a 28yearold woman. The victim reportedly told police that she has been beat by a man who tried to sexually assault her. Surveillance video from inside and around the station has already been handed over to philadelphia police. But investigators tell action news they believe the victim entered the station with her attacker. Its believed they then went together to an area behind the stairwell next to the tracks beneath the platform and thats where the attack occurred. With in said investigators say they believe the victim and attacker know each other. Still commuters we spoke with today say the fact that the attack occurred on a monday afternoon inside a busy train station is disturbing. Theres a lot of people there during that day. Action News Reporter chad pradelli has that story. Reporter Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman says karlie halls boyfriend beat and strangled her. He then allegedly waited several hours and tried to cover up the crime before calling paramedics himself. To happen here is absolutely astounding. Its extremely sad. Karlie was really great girl almost smiling happy to be around. Never had anything bad to say about anyone. Reporter today disbelief and sadness over the alleged murder of karlie hall. Investigators say her boyfriend, Gregorio Orrostieta killed karlie hall inside her millersville dorm room yesterday. He allegedly told investigators the two argued at a party. After returning to her room he then shoved and back handed his girlfriend when she hit her hair on a chair and became unresponsive. The injuries she suffered were far greater and more severe than a back hand slap and one push. Reporter police say orrostieta had bloody hands jeans and a ripped shirt. The two had been dating for 11 months. He was a graduate of kennett high school. She was from chadds ford and a graduate of unionville high school. The university called her death unfathomable. University counselors and staff are on campus all day yesterday and continue to be available to all those who loved karlie and to any of our students who are impacted by this. Police say an armed robber jumped the counter at the Dunkin Donuts at the intersection of north fifth street and West Somerville avenue. It happened at 6 30 one customer and four employees inn in the store at the time. Police say the robber grabbed cash from the register and fired a single shot toward the back of the store. Fortunately nobody was hurt. The man was last seen leaving in a burgundy colored toyota. Police in warminster bucks county looking for the man who robbed a Convenience Store early this morning. Surveillance video shows the suspect using a hammer so smash out the front door of the county farms on york road. Once inside the robber stole an undetermined amount of crash and lottery tickets.
